Default wind deflector

Just got a perspex style wind deflector from Windblox in the States. The first one arrived damaged but the second one is fine. It works well and looks Ok but some problems. When fitting it the 'curry hooks' that help hold it in have to be fitted over the top and wont sit back in properly. I can live with this, but I cant live with the constant rattling as it hits the rear bulkhead trim when driving at town speeds, even with the plastic buffers attached that they send. Has anyone else had one of these and managed to get over the problem

I'm guessing that you have the deflector mounted behind the roll over hoops.
Try mounting the deflector in front of the hoops. That way the wind is pushing the deflector into the hoops as you speed up.

Dont think that will work. Deflector is mounted in the hooks on the bulkhead so in front of the hops, but the purpose is to stop the wind coming back into the car so the action is for the air to blow it forwards and at slow speeds it gets buffeted so is constantly tapping against the bulkhead plastic blown fowards then springs back again

You might try marking the wind deflector where it hits the trim, removing the deflector, and then installing some peel-n-stick foam weatherstripping to it so it's not a hard plastic on plastic sound.

If this is one that straps to the roll bars mybe you could put something like a piece of foam or sponge, between the roll bar and the plexiglass where the straps attach, to keep the plexiglass just far enough away. It shouldn't show if it is under the strap area.

This is weird, because I haven't had this problem with mine at all. As a matter of fact, it doesn't matter what speed I am at, it always works great and never rattles. I would definitely check to make sure it is mounted correctly, and it nothing else, use some self-adhering padding to keep it up a little. But good purchase, I love the way the Windblox windscreen looks on my crossfire.

i think people are confused of what type you have. windblox has one model that is held in place by strapping it to the rollover hoops and another model that uses the unbrella hook screws. i have the latter and mine does move a lot but doesn't rattle. it's not so fun at nite with reflections from in front of the car.

Just seen it on ebay. Before you sell it did you get supplied with longer screws for the umbrella hooks, that way it can be screwed tight to the bulkhead. It looks the same sort of design as my wind restrictor and i have had no problems with that.

Shedman, yeah its weird that he is having these problems. I wish he would post another reply, because I have never had a problem with mine, and after using several different models of fabric, glass and lexan, I think this is probably the nicest windscreen I've used yet. But yeah, wishing him the best of luck.....
