Is there somethings I should know before I buy one?
Are they Reliable?
Semi quick?
I hear alot of people talk **** about them but I love them.
Any advice would help.
Can yall let me know some of the pros and cons?
Someone told me its unreliable and that the handling sucked.
( but idk if I believe them, some people just like to talk garbage )

Unreliable and the handling sucks? Funniest thing I've heard in awhile! That someone is a moron.

Drive one.

The normally aspirated are quick and handle great. The SRT6's are blazing fast. As with any car they have their quirks, but they are funa s heck to drive. Search the forum for common issuess, but any vehicle will have them. As others say, drive one.

when I first got mine I found myself driving it like I stole it. Pushing it through some intense twisties on the way back from my fiancies house noticed I was doing 80 and the car had more to give. What it lacks in speed it makes up for in looks and handling

Hmmmm.....only way I know how to anwser

Hi.
Don't want, just do.
Yes, but like any car it can have its problems
Yes they are quick and PNA summed it pretty good. Keep in mind you can have it modified by various experts on this forum or do the ultimate and do the V8 conversion and I don't mean the drink.
People who talk sheit about it more than likely never drove one or saw one outside a picture and you have good taste.
Buy it is the best advise, but talk to the people on this forum as you look. You might even consider buying one from someone here, check the classified section.
Pro's, two seater that comes in roadster or coupe - not enough SRT roadsters made
Someone doesn't know what the hell they are talking about...they should put up their data to you or shut-up
(don't believe them, you are right, some people just like to talk garbage - they more than likely have a ricer with a fart can as their only performance improvement and think that is enough)
You're welcome and post back when you get it.

Well, thanks to another thread posted on here, I just found out that my SRT is faster than 49 of the 50 fastest Muscle cars of the 60s and 70s. And, that is only by .02 seconds in a 1/4 mile, which I will easily surpass. So, I would not call a car faster than anything from the 60s and 70s slow.

i love this car. its the nicest car i have owned. t-bird, mustang, 914, saab, bonneville, eclipse, outlander, fiero gt and mr2, none can hold a candle to the engineering, design, styling and simple pleasure of owning and driving this car. this car rocks my world. im sure it would rock yours too. p.s. none of the above cars turned heads and got complements like my Xfire does.

Handles like crap? Compared to what? Its not the tightest handling vehicle ever built, but it is one of the most fun cars to drive. I have owned cars that handle better (911 4S, 928, Lotus Esprit) but nothing is quite as much fun to drive & own. There is also the intangible aspect of this car too - the people who own them. I know that sounds terrible considering that I am one of those people, but you will find kind, helpful, entertaining & unique folks as part of our XF family. I never really wanted to be part of a car club for one type of cars - I grew up in Corvette clubs & it really soured me on the experience, but XF people are a different breed. Go buy an XF - it will be a great experience and you will love being part of the family!

Another Porsche Convert.
I just bought a Crossfire Roadster after wanting one for years.
Sure, My Porsche will drop it in a heart beat and will out handle it.
Shoot, my Porsche will leave my boss's M3 in the dust.

But there is just something about the Crossfire...

I test drove one a while back and parked it next to my Turbo and its the only car my Wife said she could see me in besides the Porsche , what ever that means

I have only owned a Crossfire for less than 5 days so I will leave the technical stuff to the experts here who have forgotten more about these cars than I will ever know.

However, I will say that these cars have one serious flaw. Once you own one you will NEVER want to drive anything else. When not driving it, you will want to just sit in it and listen to the radio. I love mine so much, I am probably the only Xfire owner alive that actually does not have a problem with the cup holder.

Get the message? Go buy one, then show us the pictures.

Good luck.

Tired

About a week ago in the parking lot of a World Market a guy driving a $50K+ Caddy asked me how I liked my XF....all I said was....which one?

He got it real quick.

In the real world - the steering isn't the best in the world, neither is the manual gearbox, NA is nippy rather than fast, and watch out for rust (at least here in the uk ). The roadster is 2 different cars - much better with the roof down . Don't get me wrong I like the car but it certainly isn't perfect, but what is?

Congrats on the purchase!

That's the first I've heard of the fuel gauge not working. I would start with fuses too.

I believe the right-side lights are Fuse 7. If it's the fuse your right brake light shouldn't work either according to the diagrams in the service manual (I've never had this problem in real life, so someone correct me if I'm wrong).
The fuse box is on the driver's side in the engine compartment, at the "back" if you're looking down at the open engine compartment. The cover will probably have an irrelevant air conditioning system warning sticker on it. Remove the cover (it just pulls off) and it's pretty easy to figure out which fuses are bad. There are spares in the box.
I don't think that fuse has anything to do with your gas gauge, though, sorry...

I've had my 2006 Roadster since 2008, never had a problem. I love it, I've had a couple of Corvettes, but this is a much better car. I think it handles pretty well. A 1957 Vette FI did 0-60 in 7.5 secs. It was the fastest thing on the street then, this car will eat it for lunch. True is, the vette had lousy tires, but this car goes better. Best deal I know of is an 05 with about 30K miles, very clean for about $12K. A friend just bought one last month( coupe). Lowest priced fun car you could buy.
