Default Model Year Differences

I am looking for a YELLOW LIMITED AUTOMATIC ROADSTER, preferably a 2007 or 2008. I am curious what the differences are for each year from the 2004 to the 2008. Also, I would be happy to receive any leads on the car which anyone may have on a low mileage car like I have described. I am in the Tampa area, but can go where ever the car may be.
Many thanks from this newbie...
Bill

As far as I know, there is only the difference between the '04 and the rest of the years. In '04 you could only get what later became the "Limited" editions. In '05, the started the Base and SRT versions, also the "Special Edition" which was basically a base with some cosmetic upgrades. They did change out the knee bolsters on the enterior, but not sure which year they did that. My wife's '05 has a different glove box than my '07.
Hope this helps.

I own a 2005 yellow Limited roadster with the automatic transmission. The differences betweem model years are slight, if any. I see no reason why you should prefer a 2007 or 2008 to a 2005 or 2006. I also can't understand why anyone would be willing to pay more money for a 2007 or 2008 than they would for an earlier car. I can understand paying a premium for low miles, however.

FYI, if you're lucky (as I was), you might be able to find a one owner 2005 that has the transferrable 7 year/70,000 mile drivetrain warranty. To me, that was a good reason to prefer a 2005. By the way, there isn't a 2004 roadster.

I think the air bags were upgraded in some late model 06's, along with 07's & 08's compared to previous versions. The glove boxes are definitely different on the 07 & 08 models. I have seen a late model 06 that had the 07/08 glove box design.

The 07s & 08s (& maybe the 06s) have a dead pedal.

First of all its not YELLOW, its Oyster Gold (which is a great color) .... Secondly the ad doesn't mention Manual or Automatic (at least automatic is not mentioned in the "Options". One thing I did notice is that the top is "one touch". Could this be an option available in later years? I know we all can add "one touch", but as long as we're getting all this info ......

EDIT: the one they show is a 2008 with 14000+ miles and its in Morton, IL with a call for price. Maybe what he's talking about is new unlisted inventory
Maybe IMOPAR works there, he only has 1 post .......
BILL CASTLE (original poster) also has 1 post ....... trolls?

If it matters, the two one-owner cars at Germain Honda in Naples and Andrew's Imports should have several months of transferrable drivetrain warranty:
Find Your Car: Used Chrysler Crossfire Listings Near Sarasota, FL 34238 - AutoTrader.com

If you twisted my arm, you might get me to part with mine (8700 miles) for somewhere around the price that Ft. Myers Toyota is asking. I'm not really sure that I would sell.

Not all colors were available every year.
Yellow
Machine Grey
Silver
Oyster Gold
All appeared in the later years of production. (I'm sure many here can tell you the exact model year for each color).
I think Alabaster dissappeared for the model year Silver made its debut, but I'm not positive about that.

Thumbs up Re: Model Year Differences

Thanks for all the great information. I am presently in contact with several Crossfire owners which I have found to have their cars for sale. I hope I will be able to own a Crossfire by the end of June. Any additional info you may have relative to any which are for sale would still be greatly appreciated. As yogi Berra said, "It ani't over 'til it's over" and I will still be looking for the right car until the purchase is done.
I am sure glad I found this site as it sure has lot of great help and information.

Bill

Hey Bill, You should check in with Jason at Boham Chrysler in Texas. These people have a knack at locating Crossfires. They had a whole line of them when I purchase my yellow roadster from them back in November.
