Default roadster security

I don't know if anyone else has realized this.
I tend to leave the top down during the summer and 'thought' that locking the car with the alarm set would allow me to put any valuable items in the trunk.
NOT SO !
All anyone has to do is reach inside and pull the driver's door handle, the alarm is disabled and the trunk is unlocked.
( The passenger side handle will set off the alarm )
Does anyone know of a way to disable the drivers inside door handle from shutting off the alarm and opening the trunk if the alarm is set ?

Thanks

Something is wrong with the settings on your computer or the alarm. If the car is locked and someone pulls the handle from the inside the alarm should sound.

This is correct-I've tried it.

I tried mine last night at the beach, I put the windows down and locked it up, reached in and pulled the handle. My alarm went off and the trunk was still locked, I think you have an issue.

Thanks everyone for the response.
It seems I must have have had a stray wire or something when I did the mod to add the buzzer to the security relay. I went back and changed it from wrapping around the
relay pins to soldered to the contacts, and now everything works fine.

Actually, I was a bit wrong :
The alarm WILL sound if the driver's door is OPENED, but NOT if the inside handle
is pulled just enough to unlock the console & trunk.
STILL a PROBLEM.
