ever made? Crossfire, that is. I doubt it, seriously. But, the driver's side door sticker gives a build date of 02/04. That's quite early. The car was sold to the original owner on August 11, 2004. My build # is 24815. Anyone here have an older build date and lower build #?

 

I think this predates it by quite a few years. LOL

 

Actually, this roadster was way ahead of it's time. Notice the larger wheels in the back than in the front. Very similar concept to the look the CF designers were looking for. Also, notice the very low profile tires.

 

Yours is number 7 Roadster in my database of close to 8000 cars. Was it built on 2/25 or 2/26?

Since they began building the Roadsters as 2005 models, it does look like an early build VIN#.

The first SRT6, another 2005 introduction, that's on our Serial Number sicky, has a build date of 3/04 with a VIN#25366, we are assuming its the first, have not discovered an earlier number in 5 years of the thread.

Mine is 5X024111 - there are a couple older than mine. But I think I have the oldest one in Canada!
Build date 02/04 MDH - month day hour : 021820 Feb 18,2004 @20:00 pm

Oldest MI1XFIRE has so far is 5X022556 - yellow, Auto.Vanilla/slate navi .california. It sold on ebay for $12.700 last year (8/2010) and had 60,500 Miles

Thanx for your info, Ron. Our CF's are only 6 days apart. This has been fun. MI1XFIRE tells me mine is #7 oldest, and at my age being in the top 10 of anything is exciting. I am laying claim to the oldest CF in Vermont, maybe even New England. Thanx for everyone's help and input. Happy Motoring!!

 

My understanding is 025423 was the first 2005 Crossfire and it was a coupe.

 

Yours is still the only one I know of in Canada.

 

First 2005 Model is a Roadster as indicated above. I know of 19 Roadsters and 5 Coupes including 2 SRTs built before 25453 which was the last documented 2004 model.

 

Just looked at mine and it says 07/04 which is interesting as it was also registered in July 04
What is the build no.? The one on the plate next to the date one with lots of letters and no.s?

 

It also has the day and the time of day. It's possible that it was made, shipped and sold in the same month, it did not have far to go to the UK.
This detail is on the drivers side door, lower label.

 

I wasn't sure because the long no. is not very near the ones mentioned above - 25*** etc - as its 37***

 

Ok, for those who love to get all the glory...What is the Last number of the last Crossfire they made? Was it a coupe or roadster, in 2008? Would love to see how close my wife's "BLUBIRD" is ?

I wonna informate you about my correspondence with Karmann / Osnabrück. A few days ago I asked them for the information of the last building Crossfires by Karmann.
Today I received a letter from Osnabrück with these following facts which I wonna let you know :

- the final XF Coupe with VIN-Nr. 1C3LN69L98X076046 ; built in Dec. 17, 2007

- the final Roadster with VIN-Nr. 1C3LN65L38X076047 ; built in Dec. 17, 2007

- the final SRT-6 Coupe VIN-Nr. 1C3APE9N16X069067 ; built in June 12, 2006
