Looking to invest 3k into weight reduction "need ideas"
I haven't found the total weight on my car online yet, but I'm thinking around 3,671 lbs.
1) battery was think the 14lbs needswing sells. Does any1 know if this battery is worth the money? Stock weights around 50lbs. Saves around 25lbs.
2) carbonfiber hood saves 25lbs.
3) racing seats, stock ones weight around 60lbs on the driver side and the passenger is 40lbs. Saves around 50lbs
That's around 100lbs. If anyone has better ideas pls post. Thank you.

It all depends on how extreme you're willing to go.
Do you want to just do the above, and daily-drive the car? Do you wish to take it even further and make it track-only?
If it's the latter -- carpets, jack kit, passenger seat can all go. Lighter wheels and tires (yes, tires) can make a difference. The remainder of the interior is not really all that heavy, and honestly it's necessary for function. Even removing everything you can, you're really only going to shed ~200 pounds total before you ruin the car.
If you're just doing this to cruise around on the street, save the $$$ because the benefits of weight reduction will really only be noticed on lap times.
And if better lap times are the primary concern, spend $1,200 on Hankook RS-3 competition grade tires and pocket the other $1,800 to put towards gas money and HPDE driving lessons.
Good rubber and practice will help you more than any other single mod, and you won't be ashamed to take a lady out for a date in your car.

What car do you want to lighten? My SRT-6 weighs 3300 lbs. with me in it. That's with 1/3 tank of gas and a 14 lb. battery.

Edit: I also have Forgestar F-14's with Hankook RS-3 tires.

It's for freeway racing. I don't want my car to look ugly, but I really need to lose some weight on the car. I need to know which rims are light and nice looking and the tires would help also. I need to know where the spare tire parts are so I can remove them! My car came with no booklet. Anything and everything u post will help me. Thanks again.

Here is a quick bit of help. Don't race on streets, it isn't worth it. Go to a track and race your little heart out, but not on the street.
The lighter the rims the more expensive they get. I like my Forgestars. Michelin Pilot Sport Cups are light but expensive. The jack and pump equipment is underneath the carpet in the back.

Ok update!! the original crossfire shell intake weights 9.5lbs with k&n filters in it. The cai weights 4lbs. So I saved 5.5lbs there alone.
The tire jack and the tire iron to take them off weight 5.5lbs. So far ive shaved off
Battery 36lbs
Tire jack & assc. 5.5lbs
Original intake. 5.5lbs
Total 47lbs.
I'm looking into the rims and tires posted Ty.

How much do you weigh? Remember that at high speeds, horsepower and coefficient of drag are more critical than weight, not that weight isn't important.
And I agree with Matt 100%... keep the racing on the track, please.

The weight is for corners, downshifting and takeoffs. I have a limited roadster. I saw it weights 3660lbs around there. Too bad they didn't have a couple to get into. I could have brought it down to less than 3000lbs. I weight around 175lb.
Oh to be 20 years old again, I'd be shaving 50lbs. off my cars GVW right there.
Balian, losing 100lbs. is only supposed to cut 1/10th. of a sec. off your 1/4 mile ET's.
Is it really worth stripping your car for that?

Factory specs are as follows:
3010 lbs. (1365 kg)—Coupe;
3061 lbs. (1388 kg)—Coupe Limited, manual;
3084 lbs. (1399 kg)—Coupe Limited, automatic;
3089 lbs. (1401 kg)—Roadster;
3140 lbs. (1424 kg)—Roadster Limited, manual;
3174 lbs. (1440 kg)—Roadster Limited, automatic
Note that these are dry weights... Find a set of scales (landfill, etc) and weigh the car with you in it. That will be your best starting point.
Honestly though, our cars are fairly light as-is.
If you're itching to spend $3,000 for a performance difference, check out the turbo build thread. It would be a much better use of the funds.
