More re missing antenna mast
I am still messin'around with the antenna mast issue. I ordered one - which was supposed to fit - from JCWhitney. Bad decision. It does not fit. Turns out item is back ordered from dealer/Chrysler. Dealer had to match my VIN with the right part number. I found a place in FL that has one in stock - supposedly a match. Of course the cost of this keeps getting greater.
My question to those more knowlegeable, are these antenna masts different for different years of the Crossfire?
The part that I got from Whitney does not have the right sized stud. So the customer service agent tells me I need to have the right size fabricated. Umm - yeah - sure. I've been through this fabrication process before - talk about expensive.
I'm now waiting to see if the FL dealer will sell the mast that is in stock to me. Dang. Bad words.

If you're trying to fit this on a Crossfire Roadster, just drive over to your local Chevrolet dealer. I took one from a 2011 HHR and it fits fine.
Probably MUCH cheaper, too.

Hoo-ray - I now have an antenna mast - from the Chevy dealer! Thanks again Maxcichon!
The price difference from the Crossfire part is just a couple of bucks, but the shipping would have cost me $14.95, for this skiinny part, from FL. And I don't have to worry about a fit. One of the stories I got was that the fit might vary by the VIN number. Is this true?
While at the Chevy dealer, I saw my Chrysler service tech who has recently changed jobs. I really trust this guy - I have worked with him for about 15 years and didn't know he had changed dealerships cause I have not had any problems with my XF - halleleujah! He remembered my XF purchase. I'm up for a NC vehicle inspection - I'll let his shop do the work. This entire scenario turned out to have a positive outcome.
