I have been elsewhere for some time. Not that I don't still love this car; I do and I have been searching the web for one to call my own again for quite some time but between the wife, new house, dog and now a wonderful little baby girl, I have had to take the personal "ME" time in my life and divide it up between all the many new wonderful things.
If you hold the switch longer than the couple of seconds needed to start the automatic operation, it will act as though the Quick Touch Top isn't present. So say you were to hold it until the top is in the middle of it's operation and then let go, it will stop right there... for a few minutes and then the pressure will be released from the hydraulic system and it will fall whatever direction is easiest.
Busy is an understatement but you are all welcome over any time to see baby and we can grill up some thick-cut pork chops (weather permitting of course).
It's known and you're starting off the list.

This thread... Only place on the planet.
Done!
It worked.
Actually I could have said 'Maybe'... What's worse than not knowing either way? LOL
Response... Granted
Not interested??? Not true!!!
I see there is interest and I've just read about a dozen PMs (half of them asking if the Quick Touch Top is still available, three from the same person), I'm going to start a list. When it gets to 10 people, I'll do another run of them.

Take care and please don't take my absence as a sign of my disinterest.
Nice long thread on the single push drop top switch. I just picked up an 05 bluish silver with 37,000 mi Roadster non SRT to go with my black SRT, and the previous owner said he had replaced the entire top under warranty 2 years ago and kept it in his garage. I noticed where the fabric tucks under the bottom edge had turned outward from its natural position. It was inacessible to fix properly without being able to access the area mid-cycle. Therefore, I called a tech at the dealer supposedly trained on Crossfires to see if it was ok to let go of the switch midcycle providing acess and learned that indeed it was ok to stop it midcycle. So, with the single activating switch, my question would be how are you going to stop it midcycle if you need to access for any reason, like switch testing or lubrication?
P.S. When I re depressed the switch to finish the cycle, I continued in the direction which I had started to begin with...peace

FOR DUMMIES I hope
Man!! I am afraid to do anything [add on] to this car, other than put air into tires

Yes, it does.
The instructions have you completely remove the center console, but I did mine with just a partial removal, enough to get to the wires.
Took about 30 minutes to install, been working fine for 2+ years now.

There are PDF instructions on the very first post of this thread.
