Default Illuminated Door Sills/stock extras

Installed the illuminated door sills in my 05 Limited Roadster a few weeks ago. Had the stock sills in the garage and wondering what I could do with them. Since it was raining in Charleston I decided to try something with the stock ones. With a knife, I placed the knife blade between the metal Crossfire and the black plastic sill. Carefully sliding the knife along as it separated the tape from the sill. After I removed the metal Crossfire plate and clean the back, I retaped the metal sill plate with 3M "Scotch-Mount" <part #06385> and centered it on the carpet trunk floor. It looks good - however you have to open the trunk on the Roadster the see it. Perhaps it would look better mounted on the trunk floor of a coupe. Just passing this along to my fellow Crossfire friends.

Easy to install. Takes about an hour if you take your time.

Thom,
I have a questions with the doors Sills.
Do they turn off when you close the doors on your crossfire????????????????

please let me know.
Also in the instructions show one red cable and one brown, but in the car there are two browns.

I did installed mines yesterday and follow the instructions by the book, but they don't turn off.
Any sugestions, thanks,

Juxmaster- yes they dim and turn off just as the interior entry lights do. Had mine installed by the dealer ~ but I do know that all the wires are colored coded as per the instructions. No suggestion since I did not install mine and I couldn't go into the work area when the dealer was installing them. Thom

There is an early post in here that describes the difficulties withthe color coding in the kit. You need to search it out. The lights will go out as the interior lights dim when the door is shut. The blue light is really cool at night isn't it?

I have considered making a doorsill kit for the S and XFire, you choose the color, etc. If someone can send me a quality pic of the XFire's sill, I can determine if it's possible.

You must have installed them wrong. Ensure you have unwraped all wires behind the dash to ensure you are connecting the right ones. I think I had two lots bound together with tape. Also, is your controller box grey or yellow? If it is Grey take them back, it doesn't work properly. The yellow one is the newer one that works. I had to get mine swapped out after the grey one failed and the lights only stayed on for a few seconds at a time.

I was thinking of putting blue lights on my extra doorsill ( stock ) after trimming the letters and place it on top of the wall between the seats and the trunk. I'll try to fix it where it will connect with my existing blue neon light ( behind the amp rack ) which I attached to the trunk light so that everytime the door opens it will illuminate the trunk together with the illuminated doorsills in the passenger and driver sides.
