Default side light

Hi Guys, in the U.K our rear side lights are in orange and I understand that the ones in the U.S.A are in red. The question is, can we in the U.K get these to work? is it illegal here in the U.K?

Took a closer look, and it seems like its ready to work, just need a bulb holder and cable.

Just thought I'd ask the question.

I could also take a look how much the rear side lights cost here in the US, if you don't mind pricing the clear front side lights for me...

Thanks in advance!

about $20 is correct for the US rear marker.

the clear ones are not for sale in the US...i tried that route at the chrysler parts counter with euro part number in hand...no go in the US. this is why i had to purchase mine from ctd-germany.com. they look much nicer than the bold yellow.

I wonder the price difference getting the clear ones from a UK dealership rather then from ctd-germany.com...

They look much nicer than the yellow ones for sure!

I don't see why they could be illegal. They are not turn signal lights, so I would think they can be of any color (white in my case ). And besides, some cars don't even have them at all.

Does anyone know that for sure ?

it might depend on the state, but in NY they are "illegal" becasue the amber indicators are reflectors as well. the clears arent reflectors (theyre not req'd in europe) so many cars either leave them off (and add side markers behind the wheelwell) or make them clear because it looks so much better.

But even though its "illegal" you wont get pulled over if the bulbs are clear or amber... in NY anyways. its only a problem once the bulbs are blue, green, purple, and any other ricer color you could think of...

Hi Guys,
I´m from Germany and can told you the prices for the white front ones if you give me the part numbers. I want the US red rear ones. I need the US red ones with wiring and bulbs. If I have the part number of the white ones I call my dealer and tell you the prices. I think shipping via AIR MAIL will cost around $20 to the USA for a pair.
thanks
Steffen

You can call the dealer and just ask for the front side marker. I did the same thing when I call them for the red rear side markers too. You don't need the part number, it would just make the call shorter because the guy wouldn't have to search for the part.

What kind of wiring are you refering to ?
The bulbs should be white in your side markers, at least they are in both of my front and rear side markers. Do you really need the bulbs? I don't mind ordering them as well if you do.

I can ship everything via AIR MAIL too, you can PM me if you are interested.

I'm on about the rear side lights. In the UK, they are black orange side reflectors, in the US, they are red and lit.
