Sorry to sound stupid but what is the difference between an ECU Tune and a TCU tune and would it effect my smog checks in California?

 

An ECU tune is for the engine and the TCU tune is for your transmission. (:

Emissions vary for different states, so I would double check the laws.

 

Anyone with an automatic transmission ever try one or both of these....& feel a difference?

How easy is it to implement? 2008 na.

I did both less than s year ago.

The car definitely feels more spunky. For the money there's not much that gives you the those gains, even though it's a bit pricey but wort it. I will say I'm a little irritated about the sale price offer I see, cause I paid 600 for the TCU flash.

 

absolutely well worth it, i have both ecu and tcu tunes and they are awesome. i love shifting manually and their tcu tune makes it more fun. The tunes make the car more responsive, compared to a stock vehicle, stock they all seem lagging to me.

Can somebody tell me how much quicker the gear change is after TCU tune? Is it a slight or very noticeable speed improvement?

 

The TCU tune will not make your car faster.
