Top issue!!!

Default Top issue!!!

Trying to lower top. Course, will need to raise it too (in due time)......

Car is running (in park). Do I need to set the parking brake?

Divider in trunk (switch - closed) in proper position.

Unlatch top, windows go down.

I can hear trunk lock and confirm it is locked as well.

Pass side bow switch (switch condition - open), if I close (make) the switch, system beeps. Plus no further top action yet. Actually the top doesn't move with either switch condition.

Switch rapidly blinks.

What should I try next?

I've released the rear lock stud (6mm wrench - manual operation) but was unable to pull up with "light" force.

There is a switch located on the passenger side top rail about where the passengers ear would be. latch the top and try moving the slider up and down. Sometime it doesn't make good contact, especially if it sits awhile.

Yeah, that's what I'm calling the bow switch. Just not sure if it needs to be closed or open action on the switch.

Open, when the top snaps up and the windows go down that switch moves and makes contact. Sometimes mine sticks or doesn't make good contact until I jiggle it a few times. Could be other things but that is an easy check.

Finally able to operate in manual mode.

Still getting beeps and switch flashing.

Passenger bow switch (closed or open - no change in operation)

Divider switch - paired wires together, again no improved change in operation.

Secondary trunk lock switch (black plastic thing) removed.

Windows go down, trunk locks, then beeps and flashes.

Still investigating but losing possible ideas to try.....

I just knew that I was going to be spending a bunch of money to get my top fixed

All better now...back in action

sounds like your convertible top module might be going bad. those are tough to find in good condition and many times salvage tards will confuse them with body control modules.

The little switch on the passenger side discussed earlier in the thread. I moved it a few times and top went back to normal working condition.

Thanks, if it ever reoccurs which it may, just do the same thing. Mine usually acts up if it sits for awhile.

Thanks, if it acts up again, just do the same thing. Mine acts up sometimes if the top isn't put down for a period of time.

My fix. so far, was to buy the combo tool and put the top down & up manually.
