Default Spoiler and top issues!

I bought a 2005 roadster, manual, 74k miles, the trunk was all messed around with so I have no idea what was played with and or removed......
im having 2 big issues
#1 the spoiler- my spoiler is stuck up, however when I hit about 30 mph the spoiler goes down, comes back up, and then the light blinks in the button and won’t work, just stays stuck up. if I start the car and put it down (which it does let me do) it’ll pop right back up after a couple secs. However if I put it down and shut the car off, when I turn the car back on it stays down until I hit 30 mph again and does the same thing...

#2 my top won’t go down- when I release the latch the windows do go down, but then the button blinks. When I press it, it beeps, and won’t move, when I put it down manually it doesn’t either come back up (unless I do it manually)
I am missing the trunk divider board holder and sensor (not sure if it was rewired or not, don’t know what it’s supposed to look like)
can someone help me! Ideas??!!! Thank you!

It sounds like your top problem is the missing parts. The biggest issue is going to be finding a replacement switch. The panels show up on E-bay from time to time. As for bypassing the switch, I'm sure it can be done however the switch and panel are there to be sure you do not put the top down with anything is the way. Our top expert is pizzaman however he is not on here as often as he used to be.

Anyone know what this is for exactly bec mine is hanging and the springy part (the clear plastic part) is always closed (contracted) anyone know how it’s supposed to be? Possibly one of the problems here?

That is the electric locking mechanism that is intended to prevent the convertible trunk from being opened while the top is being raised or lowered. This mechanism has been troublesome in recent years and can make opening the trunk impossible. You are not to worry, because the mechansm has been removed from its mounting, and can't cause problems now. For additional information, look in "Crossfire Roadster" and read the lengthy thread entitled, "Trunk Lid Jammed".

Well will that effect my spoiler or roof from opening and closing?

I think you've got a lot of things going on. You'll have to tackle them one at a time. Don't worry, you'll figure it out.

I would start with your spoiler issue. Do some google searches to quickly find some forum threads on the spoiler. Type into google the following: www.crossfireforum.org: spoiler up
Or type into google: www.crossfireforum.org: spoiler problems
By typing into google "www.crossfireforum.org: " and then the item you're looking for...you will force google to return hits only within the forum.

If I remember right, most folks suggest you start with the battery. Is it new? A weak or marginal battery causes all kinds of problems in the Crossfire.

Next, dig down to the bottom of your trunk to look for signs of water or corrosion.
Report back what you've found.

With regards to the top, it sounds like you know how to manually raise and lower the top. I had to do that for a year before I figured out what needed to be done to make it work automatically.
There are some photos of the trunk divider parts at: Trunk divider
I just put the trunk divider down on my 2005 Roadster. When I unlatch the top, the windows go down but that's as far as you can go. The button light stays red and beeps.
There is a switch in the convertible top above the passenger's head and the trunk divider switch. They both have to work in order for the top to function.
You could wire the trunk divider safety switch together to bypass that switch but you had better be sure that nothing is ever in the trunk. That's what the divider is for.
Also, while you're in the trunk, look behind the driver's side trunk liner and look at the hydraulic cylinder reservoir. Use a flashlight to see if there's any hydraulic fluid in that reservoir.

I bought the car 6 months ago with these issues so I have no idea what the person before did, besides for leave the trunk a mess!
very likely the battery is old or something, I can def try that!

about the divider, I’m missing the parts that hold up the divider, and I know the left one has a sensor in it but I don’t have it at all. I would love to rewire it but it’s been played around with so I don’t know which wires go where.
if anyone has pics of the wiring before it’s been played around with maybe I’ll be able to figure it out!!
anyone have any kind of pics of that trunk divider wiring??!

This is the only photo that I've found on the trunk divider switch. There are only two wires. The trunk divider closes the switch.
The switch above the passenger's head is a little harder to see. I'll attach my own photo of that switch. (Ignore the yellow rubber band on it. I had to add that to keep that spring mechanism in place.) To see the switch, you really need to lift the top about a foot or two. Have someone else hold the top in that position while you look at the switch and see if it's there.

Top won’t go down ---- trunk latch problem

There is a micro-switch located within the trunk latch that is not replaceable. Unfortunately it fails after several years because it is activated when the trunk is closed, which is most of the time.

The actuating lever on the switch lever will become malformed over time due to being activated all the time. See the attached diagram.

This circuit uses reverse logic in that when it is activated, the circuit is open telling the controller that the trunk is closed and latched and it is safe to put the top down. This is in addition to all the other safeguards previously mentioned. Fortunately, there is an easy, but risky, fix. Just disconnect it and be sure the trunk is closed before operating the top..

The connector is located behind the plastic cover on the inside of the trunk lid. Just to the left of the emergency pull. I believe it is a brown connector, however check the wiring, Dark Green with white tracer (DG/WT).

I checked several used latches and everyone of them had this problem. Either get a NEW latch or do as I did and put a mercury switch between the two wires on the connector and install it on the trunk lid so that it is open when the trunk is closed and closed when the trunk is raised.
