SRT6 AMG Shift Knob
Just replaced the standard silver "cue ball" shift **** with a new aluminum/black/wood unit. Looks very sharp. I tried to find one at local stores but the shift shaft was too tall. Found this on eBay, specifically made for the MB SL. Took 4 days from order to receipt. Cost $69.99 USD including shipping. They also offer all types of AMG/MB/BMW/M badges.

Did it fit right away? Was it easy to install? According to the listing, the **** is not for the SLK model, which seems strange if it did fit. Thanks.
Not trying to burst your bubble but that is not a real AMG shift ****. The real ones are very tough to find and come in the black birds eye maple used on AMG cars.
If you are happy with the way the shift **** looks in the car that is all that really matters.

Hey, no bubble bursting here...
It is an easy to install direct fit replacement for the standard shift ****. I realize it is not the "genuine" article. I am sure that would cost hundreds more.
And yes, I do like the way it looks even if it isn't a real AMG...but then even though the engine is hand assembled with AMG parts it isn't really an AMG, is it?

In spirit the engine is an AMG but not in name. AMG is owned by Mercedes. DCX owns both Mercedes and Chrysler. AMG is in the family tree but on the other side.
Kinda like your cousin's wife is in the family but she's not related by blood.
It's a twisted little world we live in.
We sell the AMG shift ***** as well as several other non-MB ***** but I haven't had a 6 speed to try them on. When I get my SRT here, I'll find out if our ***** will fit.

Yes. You'll notice that there are no real AMG cars with standard transmissions.
We have all kinds of shift ***** for auto and manual trannies. Several of our clients want to change them to "personalize" their cars.
There are two kinds of interchangeable shift *****. Those with a shift boot and those without. Some cars had integrated boot/**** assemblies and they're stuck with the stock style setup.

Feets,
Can you post what is available? Do you have a website that shows them? I would rather keep my purchases "within the community".
Yes, the solution I used was for the SRT6 (auto only).

I didn't think the mods would appreciate me advertising for our business. I work for Park Place Motorcars. You can see our accessories by going to www.parkplacetexas.com.
When the site comes up, hover over parts in the top menu bar and select accessories. It will open a new page. Select Mercedes SLK and then go to the section listed as up to 2004.

Not to keep derailing the thread but I shot a email to the AMG private lounge forum and those guys say unless it came with a AMG badge it isn't a AMG no matter what (not that it was disputed). They even said it applies to the McLaren SLR and Pagani Zonda, even though the SRT6 is more AMG than both of those cars.

I think SRTSIX offers/offered these plaques.
Search for shift **** on this forum and you will find many nice choices. Momo makes several; the one below is quite popular
MOMO Combat Evo Airmetal Shift ****:Amazon:Automotive
Razo makes a fee good short ***** too.
But if you're going for something more customized &Euro, the fleaBay vendor below may be able to help you.

Thanks yes I have come across some other posts on here, I should have said other AMG ones. This is the one I'm looking at and was hoping someone could confirm it would fit or it could be made to fit with a little work.

I was thinking of getting the black painted portion wrapped with perforated leather. I like that the silver looks like it will match well with the rest of the car too. It has a 14 day return policy so If nobody knows for sure if it will fit or not I might just try it.
