Default miles and fuel

Hi,

I recently purchased a srt6 coupe. I live in the UK and was wondering how many miles you guys are getting city driving or how many miles on a full tank?. Does it make a difference if you put in 95 ron or 98 ron fuel??

Thanks,

Later.

That's a little more than what I get. My average is 260 miles per tank. That's an average of 19 to 20 miles per gallon. Keep the engine speed below 2,700 rpm to turn off the supercharger and you'll get better economy.
That converts to 11 or 12 L/100 km.
I always run 93 octane so I can't comment on lower grade fuel.

I get around 17.5 to 19 mpg with about two thirds city third highway driving. The city mileage is decent considering that in San Diego you will wait at every stoplight, er, traffic light on your trip. San Diego doesn't believe in efficient, smooth flow of traffic.

On a trip to Las Vegas last year I averaged 24 mpg to Barstow (about 3/5 of the way to Vegas from San Diego) and 25 mpg from Barstow to Vegas. I thought this was excellent since highway construction caused stop and go traffic for several miles on both segments of the trip, and when past the construction zones, I was doing 80 (just staying with the flow of traffic - to go any slower is to risk being rear ended!).

I'm a huge fan of cruise control. I use it everyday [except when in traffic of course]. If I set my cruise at 65-70, I generally get about 22 and a bit over 300 per tank. If I goof around some it goes down considerably though. Nonetheless, I think this car is a great balance between performance and fuel economy.

Hi, welcome.
I'm in the UK and also have just bought a SRT. I consider myself lucky if I get 200 miles from a tank, but that isn't motorway driving. I just put the normal 95 ron into the tank.
Where abouts are you?

Quick note, U.S. gallons and British gallons are different, so the MPG is going to be off if comparing the two without conversion.

British Gallon = 1.201 US gallons (4.546 liters)

US Gallon = .833 British gallons (3.785 liters)

Now you learn something new every day. Still does not explain why I can just get 200 miles to a tank though. Hmmm.

I took a 2,000 mile (each way) road trip during the for the Christmas holiday and got an average of 300 miles per tank (with some to spare).

In the city, it's less ... but then again, I'm a fan of getting up to the speed limit as quickly as possible.

Hi,

I'm in London. I was lucky to get 200 miles the other day. Been putting in shell v power. Quite heavy on the gas but a great car! Worth it! Got a good deal! What did you pay for yours?

I'd be willing to bet your fuel in England has more ethanol in it, another reason why you have a higher octane rating than over here. which would explain why you have lower mileage on a full tank of gas compared to what we get in the states on a full tank.
