Crossfire to Crossfire SRT6.
I have a 2004 Crossfire at the moment and I was thinking I wouldn't mind getting a SRT6.
Has anyone had a standard Crossfire and then upgraded to a SRT6?
I know the figures speak for themselves but how much difference is there in the real world?
Thanks.
Norrie.

That all depends on how and where you drive, of course, but the extra 115 HP, extra 81 foot-pounds of torque, larger brakes and Alcantara seats do indeed make quite a difference in performance from the driver's perspective. The different (and slightly lighter) wheels, chin and wing are in reality just matters of personal preference. But there is no 7/70 powertrain warranty with the SRT6, and the supercharger and intercooler have been known to have "issues" that the dealers often do not understand. For the money, though, I do think the upgrade is worth it as a complete package, but only if you want the noticeably improved performance, if you can tolerate the significantly stiffer suspension on bad road surfaces, and if you are willing to risk the poorer warranty and even spottier service.
If you want a white, yellow or red Crossfire, however, then you're stuck -- there are no such colors with the SRT6, and the production run has ended...

maxxm,
The factory warranty is 3/36 bumper to bumper, but still carries the 7/70 on the power train. (or so I thought)
I purchased an extended warranty of 7/100 bumper to bumper. It also covers towing, rental reimbursement, hotel reimbursement and a bunch of other goodies.
(I bought into the SRT6 first... so no opinions on the moving up part).

Warranty
Powertrain - Miles = 36,000 - Outer Body Rust Through - Miles = 100,000 - Months = 36 - Outer Body Rust Through - Months = 60 - Powertrain - Months = 36 - Miles = 36,000 (emphasis added). The information provided in the chart at page 253 of the SRT6 Owner's Manual is somewhat ambiguous, but the separate booklet entitled "Warranty Information / 2005 SRT Vehicles" is crystal clear -- there is no 7/70 warranty for the SRT6 model. And that's why, like you, I also bought the extended warranty for peace of mind...
