Default Allow myself to introduce... um... myself

Sorry if this is in the wrong section...

Name is Fernando aka Teh Flo (to most)... I had been in the neon game for a few years when I picked up an '01, and happen to find my way onto a couple of forums... quickly I made friends and met some pretty cool people. I then started to hear about the SRT-4, after I saw one, I was hooked and I knew I wanted one.

I was once the owner of this...

a 2004 SRT-4... and I loved it. I had quite a bit invested into it.

Boomba Engine Mounts
Borla Cat-Back
CCA Front Mount Intercooler
JMB Pipe w/Greddy Type S BOV
AEM CAI
Maddog STS
MaxxFabb 3 inch o2 Housing
Mopar Stage 2 w/ Toys
Needswing DP w/McCord
Ported Intake Mani
Ported Exhaust Mani
Ported Turbo housing

36-Way IPP Coilovers
Front/Rear Strut Tower Bars
Mopar Super Center Cross Drilled Rotors/Brakes
18x7.5 Nex-o rims PX-5
Upgraded Sway Bars

AEM Uego A/F Gauge
Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge
Tech Gauges

When I autox, I swap out my rims to 17x7 Centerline Storm Rims wrapped in Azenis RT-615. And when I hit the 1/4 mile track, I'll go with BFG DR's with stock rims.

It all came crashing down around sept last year, as the car suddenly came down with problems. So much so that I no longer wanted to keep it as I didn't have confidence in the car. Due to many different reason and situations, I picked out a car that I thought would be something that I would enjoy, it was definitely different.

In came the 2007 Scion tC, the tC era had begun.

It is a great car... but something feels like its missing. All I can say for sure right now is that there is something-ah-brewing. There just might be a change.

Even with the tC, I still am extremely involved with the local car club that I help run. The Chicagoland SRT Club aka CSC, its more then a car club, its a lifestyle. Things are already brewing on our schedule for the next couple of months and it appears to be a year in which we grow and are extremely active.

Now, yesterday, I went ahead, and decided to trade in the 2007 tC for a 2005 SRT6... and I'm in love again! The power, the feel, its almost like a perfect combination of power and luxury.

Welcome to the forum Fernando, and congratulations on your new SRT. I'm sure you will find this forum very informative, interesting, funny, and at times controversial, but it's a nice place to be. It seems like you are a guy who gets involved with your car clubs. I hope you get as much from the forum as we hope to get from you.
Enjoy the ride.

Thanks for the welcome... I am pretty active in the area... one of the good things about having a understanding job and not having a family to keep me busy. I enjoy going out and meeting new people along with enjoy being part of a club that is active. We at CSC, try to provide the best with in our club for our members. We just had a meet at WhirlyBall, our next event will be a Install Day in early April, our Dyno day in late April and May 12th is our Drag Race day. And that's not including our weekly meets.

Fernando... a good DCX mechanic could have ironed out the problems you had with your SRT-4. More than likely, your porting of the stock turbo and exhaust manifold caused problems with Stage 2/toys. Hope you had a wideband air fuel gauge to help figure it out. I got the Stage 3/toys option for good daily drivability and a friend/DCX tech set me all up... goes like a banshee with it's *** on fire, especially in dial-a-boost 1 to 3 settings.

I have an '05 SRT-4 with a lot of the same mods, except after watching all the 50 trim guys run into daily driver problems with fuel and boost management, I opted just to go Stage 3/toys... Love every minute of it.
Ya gotta do the suspension first on those Neons though. (Hotchkiss sways, frame brace, S3 coilovers, strut tower bars, rear control arms).

We are a two SRT family... Highly modified SRT-4 and a stocker SRT-6 coupe in the same color as yours. I'm not messing with the Crossfire. Too expensive to fix if you take it out of warranty. Parts alone will eat you alive. Sure is a blast to drive around corners though.

Welcome to the SRT club...

Welcome to the SRT club...
Even with the hook-ups that i do have, i know a DCX mechanic, i also had a hook up at a dealership, there was no reason for the way that the "4" went down... Also, even with the knowledge that we have as a SRT club, there was no logical answer for the melt down. Once it was back up and running, i simply had no confidence in the car.

I did have a Uego gauge, and even after the porting of the turbo, mani's, tb... it would still peg 10 a/f's on the dyno and on track pulls. I never wanted to go the route of Map Clamp to lean it out.

I can't wait for things to warm up around here and get out there with the rest of my club.
