Default Curb rash!

I looked at used SRT6 on a car lot yesterday. Three out of four wheels had been curbed. Just looking at the tires you'd think the sidewalls stick out far enough to protect the wheel. Do Crossfires have wheel or tire problems?

Only the drivers who GTFF (go to fast) around corners or are brain dead (not paying attention) or had a senior moment as for some of us older people, cough! cough! use as for our lack of cognitive powers at any given point in time. Or in some cases all three. And don't forget about those cement curbs that jump out in front of you when your turning into a driveway.

I don't know of any "problems" except the summer performance tires are horrible in snow. And as far as the tire sticking out enough to protect it. Not true.
A lot of people have at least one curbed tire.

Just out of curiosity, how much do replacements cost?

Umm. I think i seen 1 rim on eBay in the range of $200 +shipping (used). But a full set is over $1,000. where you can get some aftermarket rims for around $250 a rim.

I actually had the same problem...I went to the dealer to look at the car and 3 rims were all chewed up! Before I made the deal, I told the manager that in order for me to buy the car, the rims must be replaced...Of course they said they couldn't replace all of the rims, but they told me that they could refinish them in which I agreed upon...They look great now! Unfortunately there were a few door dings on the car that I didn't see when I bought it, but...whatever. I still love her...

IMO, the XF rims aren't sufficiently protected against curb rash, Inadequate shoulder on the OEM tires? I haven't yet replaced my tires but I can tell you that I'll be looking for replacement tires with a bigger shoulder.

I got some yesterday for the first time at the Bank Drive-up ATM. I had to turn the wheel to get a little closer and after I was done I forgot my wheels were turned and it rashed up with front right rim and the drive thru space is so small there's no room for error.

I'm gonna have to find a place to re-finish the one rim cause even though I can't see it I know it's there.
