Dinner and Compliments
Two days ago I stopped by our local In-N-Out going through the drive-thru. The cars path actually crosses over where you leave the restaurant to get to your car in the lot. Two young men started walking across in front of the car eyes fixed to the Crossfire. Their heads turning to keep eye contact with the car as they walked. Pointing, and hands drawing the curves in the air they both nearly fell down a small flight of stairs. They continued staring all the way to their car. As they drove off their eyes were still affixed to my car. Fortunately no one else was in their path...
Tonight I went to dinner with my wife on this fine balmy spring evening in sunny SoCal. Afterwards we got in the car and went to back out but there was a couple standing in the way. They were checking the SRT6 out with loving glances. He asked how I liked it and of course I told him I love mine.
He has been trying to get one for $25K but he said the SRT6s around here are going for $28K and up and won't budge from that. He knew all about the SRT6 and wants one real bad!
He looked at the shine and said "...HOW DO YOU KEEP A BLACK CAR LOOKING LIKE GLASS WITH NO SWIRLS???..." I told him "...it takes a lot of time and care and a lot of help from my Porter Cable".
It is nice to be recognized for all the hard work. It doesn't hurt to start with a knockout of a car like the Crossfire.
They both replied "...the shine is FANTASTIC..."

Amen to the shine... tough with a black car that's seen just over 20,000 miles on cross country road trips and daily driving to work. Not to mention debris that forced me to make an insurance claim.
I also track my car, so it's probably going to suffer a while longer. Maybe in a year or two I'll have the front windshield replaced and the car repainted entirely or at least the front (stone chips).
Great story... I still get that kind of stuff from time to time... it's a spirit lifter for sure.

Yea the first Xfire i looked at was an aero blue SRT-6. but they wanted 28k. I wouldn't get him to drop anything since it was already below KBB and.
I think if i have the chance to get a SRT i might take it. But it would have to be a steal work trading my '04 in.
