Default Yet another new SRT-6 owner

Hi folks. Just bought mine on 6/17. Untitled Aero Blue Pearl Coupe /w NAV. 160 mi on it for $27k. In SoCal.

My wife is already commenting on the ride. A bit on the hard side for her. Anything I can do about it? It's been particularly noticeable on some freeway segments.

Thanks!

I'll answer the same as I did for SRT-8AZ...

Not likely. The SRT6 is a stiffer ride... period.

If you want to go backwards to the Limited or Base suspension sway bars and shocks/struts and springs, be my guest. Be warned... you WILL hate it.

My wife actually has no problem with the ride in our SRT6. She actually likes the stiffer ride (pun intended).

After we purchased mine last weekend, my wife decided she wanted a XF SRT-6 too. So we drove from San Diego to a dealership in Orange County with my wife behind the wheel, to check another one out.

When you get an excellent and expensive new toy, it can be a bit difficult to explain to your spouse that they shouldn't have one also. So having her drive was actually intentional on my part, and she found the ride too firm as expected. However, she thought if we could soften it up a bit that it might do the trick.

I'm not against her having one, but knowing my wife, I just don't think it's a great match. Anyway, I think she's decided now that one is enough.

Not that it's not a great deal though . . .

I have heard that the suspension on the SRT6 roadster is softer. It will be good to have one coupe and one convertible.

We took a ride in a "regular" Crossfire. Definitely a softer ride.

Did you buy the one at Harbor Chrysler?

No. But you might have the right place. Is there anything you believe I should be aware of?

Thx.

hm... and here I am thinking about making my ride stiffer... seriously though.. if she is complaining about the ride in the SRT-6 the easiest and best thing you can do is suggest a standard... as she probably is not so much attracted to the SRT-6s performance anyways, but I might be wrong here...

Put a pillow under her Butt !!! the car is fantastic just as it is and should not be put down in any way, especially when this problem has such a simple fix.

Ditch the wife and keep the car.

Sports car brakes, handling, cornering, suspension... I wouldn't mess with it, would void warranty on busted parts that are expensive... Go the pillow-to-butt route. Low, hard, non-adjustable dampening... I don't think they make adjustable coilovers for the SRT6.
