Default Just bought a black '05 SRT-6... WooHoo!

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to greet everyone and announce that I can officially be a member of this forum now. Yesterday I bought a "new" '05 Crossfire SRT-6 Coupe. It's black, no nav, one color interior, and has hi-perf tires. That's all the available options right?

To anyone thinking of buying one: DO IT NOW! The "new" 2005 SRT's are almost gone and they're selling like hot cakes. Yesterday alone, I called around to several dealers and they had just sold all of theirs. People are buying them sight unseen and having them shipped around the country and to Canada. You can't beat a $47k car for $25k. Mine even has most of the 3/36 warranty on it - it has a service date of July 31, 2007. So I only lost 2 months of warranty and saved about $20k. Gotta love it!

Can you tell I'm still excited? LOL.

Thanks to you guys on the forums. This was a great source of info before I made my purchase, and will no doubt be invaluable now that I have one.

Later,
Tom

Congrats on the car!

Actually all of the SRTs have one color interior. I think the only options were paint color (choice of 4), NAV and all season Contis.

Hi Tom:

Where did you buy yours from?

I was one of those guys who bought his over the phone in Canada and its on a carrier now with less than a 1,000 miles to go before it gets to its destination. I bought mine from Tarpon Dodge in Florida so it’s had to make a 3,500 mile journey to get to its destination.

I've got my fingers crossed that it shows up looking just as good as it did in the pictures.

Hi Bill:

I picked up the "New" Black Coupe with w/o NAV. I actually purchased the car over a month ago (August 18th), but since I dealt with a sales person that has never sold a car out of state before (and doesn't follow instructions), I was traveling a lot at the time and DAS was used to ship the car it will be a total of 6 weeks before I start driving it.

I'll send you an email letting you know the condition of the car when it shows up. The photos they sent me shows the car as perfect and it has the Michelin Tires as well. My in service date is Feb/07.

Congrats! Just got mine a couple of weeks ago. It's a blast to drive. But, everyone knows that Aero Blue is the fastest color!

I thought so too, until I only ran a 13.36. Oh well, that will be remedied soon enough.

Congrats and welcome!!

This forum is great! I only wish I had found it before I bought mine. I traded in a 10k mile G35 coupe that I purchased new for my car. Mine was a Chrysler corporate lease vehicle with 11k miles. If I had known about these "new" ones before hand, I would have bought one of those. My car was driven in the snow and salt, I had to replace the windshield, scrape rust off the axles, fix a ding, has a lurching shift problem, some minor scratches on the interior, a chirping SC clutch, salt stained valve covers, very noisy lifters and fuel injectors, pitted headlights, and now the seat belt alarm stopped working (not that is a bad thing), and etc. I thought I got a decent deal at $25,000 until I heard about the "new" ones.

Definitely pays to do some research! I'm putting mine up for sale because I just don't want to deal with the problems that this car may have in the future because I don't think it was taken care of properly.

Hi EA,
I didn't know it was you, I thought you were in the NW USA. Got my fingers crossed for you!

Hey Haywood,
You got that wrong, it's the SSB that is the fastest color!

Are you done with the SRT6? I hope not. I hate you are having issues with it.
As for the valve covers, they all look salt stained, at least every one I've seen.

Probably not, just pi$$ed at it the fact that I've been having issues with it and the dealership attitude sucks! I just wish I had known about the new ones.
