Mine came from the dealer new. I believe they were a dealer add on. And yes, I do like the trim and even though I religiously park to minimize any probability of someone opening there door into the car it happens.

I would also do the door handles and rear calipers in red. Them I would get rid of the chrome strip around the rear wheel well. Just my .02.

If you were doing a top half red along the lines of the car... then that would be different... the accents that you're trying to do are too small and far apart and too small to make it look any good... now if you had only done part of the wing, that would of been different.
The doors aren't bad though....

Ok, I'm all about supporting people and what they like, but I hope this thread is seeking opinions. Here is mine:
I think luxury automobiles of this one's caliber (before the price drop) should remain tastefully understated. The red wing is a bit much. It doesn't match anything. The whale tale shouldn't be highlighted. It should blend seamlessly into the vehicle. Also, there is nothing more tacky than putting cheap, auto part store chrome tape around anything, especially the wheel wells (and only the rears at that)!!! That is one major rule of thumb that most designers and professional customizers would agree with. Never, ever, ever put chrome tape on anything! Not on door seems, not on trunk seems, not on hood seems, and not on wheel wells!
Dude, I'm glad you are happy with your car, but right now it looks jumbled, and mis matched. I'm not trying to be a jerk, or put you down. Honestly, I'm only giving you my honest opinion. I mean, come on, have you ever seen a car running around with stick on crap and chrome tape and said, "Wow, that looks awesome!" Try to think of it this way, have you ever seen a Ferrari, Lambo, or other high caliber vehicle with chrome tape affixed? If it's not good enough for those cars, don't put it on yours, even if it were a Civic.
Just an honest opinion from a mutual car enthusiast.

Wow Randy, you're getting some "tuff love" here, but I think you know it's all intended to be constructive.
From directly behind the car, it looks like a giant center stop light (at least in the photo) when the roadster already has a pretty big one to start with.
Also IMO painting it red sort of makes it look more like a Tuner Boyz add on wing, rather than a "Porsche Like" whale tail.
I would give serious thought to losing the taped on chrome wheel well moldings too.
In the end though, it boils down to what "YOU" want. So as Jimmy Hendricks once said, "Let your Freak Flag Fly"!! I did, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the mod's that I made to my car.
