Future SRT6 value
Any thoughts about the future value of these cars...the SRT6 versions specifically. I see from the list that the highest VIN is the 2006 #64172 Sapphire Silver Blue Roadster. If that really is the last SRT6 roadster made...do you think that car and other early or late VIN numbers might increase in value in the future? I own #64172 and I'm debating whether to sell it now... because I never seem to have time to drive it...or wait a while longer. Any thoughts?
I'll trade you my '05 Limited Coupe and some cash for that SRT.
I take it back I'm looking for a Coupe. Sorry I just noticed yours is a Roadster.
I do think and hope yours will have added value, I think they were only 12 SRT's produced for the 2006 Model Year.
IMO It's a keeper.

99% of people who will trade or sell an SRT right now are losing money, IMO.
Keep the car if you can - it should level out, and possibly increase someday...especially the roadsters.
I thought I bought at a good time when I paid $24,900 for a 'NEW' SRT Coupe (it had 18 miles).
I have seen them with 10K miles going for $18-20K now...granted, that has 10K more miles than mine, but still a significant price drop.
They can't get too much lower, so I'd wait a little longer and see if they increase in the future.

I am the proud owner of a VW Beetle Convertible '79, a car you will never see in the US - a BMW Z1, plus Alfa Romeo Spiders, plus ... a P944.
So far all the cars either held their values or increased over time. The normal time span is about 10 to 15 years before a noticeable move in price comes. Patience! If you are just interested in a fast gain - don"t invest in a car! But it is definitely a lot of fun!

Unless you are buying a high-demand limited edition vehicle (think Ford GT) niche vehicles like the crossfire will not be investment grade. But that's not why any crossfire should be bought. They are a great vehicle: cheap to buy and fun to drive. SRT, Limited or Base, enjoy them and someday well-preserved examples will get premium dollars, but not for awhile.
But then again, I could be wrong.

I challenge the lie that is this thread's title.
It is about future SRT6 prices, not future value.

STOP SELLING THESE AT BARGAIN PRICES!!!

With everything that has happened this summer, I think the SRT prices have started to level out. There could also be a few stray deals in the next few months here up north as we go into winter, but I personally can't see a price below $20,000 for an SRT-6 Coupe by next spring no matter how many miles. This may or may not be true, but I feel pretty confident. If you've noticed there aren't many left out there, and most are now in the hands of private owners. The remaining clean low mile cars on e-bay that were selling for 23-25 back in June are now bringing 27-28.
It's over guys, there are no more "Inventory Reduction Cars", and almost all of the employee lease cars have been turned in. It is slim pickings at the sale now, and the low mile cars that do show up are bringing a premium. This is why I got my father into an 11 mile Black Coupe back in June for $25,000.
I think his car is money in the bank.

It's weird. The dealer i bought mine from(Mall Chrysler in Moorstown, NJ) purchased 3 more SRT6's(one was a roadster) and none of them were priced below 27k with around 5k miles on them. And most around this area are still selling in that range that i have seen. They are definitely getting harder to find though.

Maybe these srt6s will hold their value and rise over time, but think of it this way the only bigger bang for the buck is a $10k SRT6 in 5 years with under 5,000 miles!
At the risk of dating myself, I went through the same thing with a Datsun 240z. I hung on to it for years thinking it would go up and it never did. I finally gave up and sold it. Today the things are classics! I did the same thing with a 1967 Chevelle SS396 with solid lifters that I bought new. I watched the same thing happen with the old split window Corvette coupe. No one wanted them because the rear view was blocked. Try and buy one today!
Believe me on this - hang on to your SRT6! The prices drop and all the local racer boys, who can't afford to maintain them but want to be cool, buy them, beat the crap out of them and make part cars out of them. The supply drops dramatically and suddenly they are "rare". This won't happen in 5 years but it will happen. When I get one it will be babied and kept for a long time. That is why I am buying it.

It's not just super high-end cars that appreciate in value, or initially high-demand vehicles. I bought a brand new Jetta GLI off a dealer lot near chicago in November 2004, never titled, 100 miles on it. It was loaded, leather Recaros, VR6 engine, 6-spd, etc. No-one would touch the car because there was the 2004.5 "special edition" with an inferior motor out as well. They practically had to give the car to me... beg me to take it. I got the thing for 20k on the head, lol, 6k under invoice. There were only a couple thousand of those made, like these cars.
I just saw my car's twin this summer. Same color, loaded, even the same mileage. The local VW dealer sold it for $22,000 with light scratches and 50,000 miles on it. Now that car/engine isn't available anymore and people really want them. This will happen to the crossfire SRT-6 fairly quickly; people will be able to drive them 30,000 miles and make a few thousand in the deal assuming they take good care of them. I do agree with you, however, in that they will not demand premium dollars for some time.
