Any advice during the install...

 

Be careful getting the keyway lined up with the woodruff key in the crank shaft. And you are going to need a big a$$ breaker bar to break the crank bolt loose. The best way to hold the engine crank from turning is to remove one of your tq converter bolts and replace it with a bolt about 2" long with a nut threaded all the way up to the shoulder (end of threads) just in case it breaks off you'll have something to get hold of to get it out. Tq. specs for the crank bolt is 150 ft pounds + 90%. Also when removing your belt, when you pull up the tension pulley there is a small hole under it to insert something in to hold it up, I used an allen wrench.

 

Don't break anything, replacement parts are expensive.

Do you know any good dyno tuners in the midwest for our car? I'm in the chicago suburbs...

 

It runs great, the biggest problem is traction. I've owned some pretty fast cars in the past and there were only 2 that I think were faster, a 1970 Mach 1 with a 428 CJ and a 1970 442 with a 455. It will light up the rear tire's in first gear at any speed. I've yet to get to a track, in the location of where I live there are no 1/4 mile tracks around. There is an 1/8th mile track close by and I hope to get there before they close for the year. I have a G-TECH meter and I would like to see how it compares with an actual track run.

 

No, I'm sorry but I don't. I live in the sticks in southern Indiana, about 100 miles from anywhere. But I'm sure there are plenty of them around the burb's of Chicago, I believe there are several members near the Chicago area, maybe one of those guy's will chime in. Actually there is a good dyno tuner that lives right behind me, but you would have to pull your engine. He builds race engines, let me rephrase that, he builds monsters. He's one of the best engine builder's around, people come from several states away for him to do their engine's. I love it when he sets one up on his dyno to tune it in, I get MEGA GOOSE BUMPS.

Won't be done until the morning...pretty simple install though. That fan just pops out with nothing but clips holding it!

 

I love the clip-on modularity of these cars. Believe it or not, the radiator is held in the same way, simply unclip and pull. As is the air boxes, top cover, many interior pieces... it's very handy sometimes.
