Who has the SL55 Y-Pipe? Any pics?
Do any of you guys have the SL55 Y-Pipe installed?
Any pics of the SL55 Y compared to the stock one?
A friend of mine wants to modify his. I am probably just going to get the Needswings intake...but I'm posting this for him. He wants to keep the factory look with the air boxes and engine cover in tact.
I've seen two different Y Pipes, one metal and one rubber/plastic. I can't tell which one is the SL55 Y that everyone is using.
Thanks,
Shawn

I don't think you can use the SL55 Y pipe w/the NeedsWings intake (if we are talking about the same Y).
Check out http://www.oempartsdirect.com and drill down on a SL55.

Compliments of slk32.com
I think HDDP posted his polished intake pipe.

Brian,
Any idea which car each of those came off of?
I haven't been able to find the source for that metal version, or find out if it is larger than our T-body.
Do you have this done on your car?

So is that metal piece pictured the one for the intercooler, and the plastic one is for the throttle body?
I need the 'Y' that goes to the throttle body, from the airboxes...
NeverEnough wouldn't need this as he has the NeedsWings intake (one pipe).

Yeah, we aren't talking about the same thing here. I have always seen the Y-Pipe refered to as teh pipe coming out of the intercooler that feeds the intake manifolds. The metal one in teh picture with the sensor sticking out of it is the one I am talking about and the one that want to use with the NeedsWings Intake.
The one you are talking about IS #12 in the diagram. It is made of plastic. Should be easy to get from a Benz dealer.

Perhaps the IC Y pipe is #10 below?:

BTW, the price for #10 is $45.92 at oempartsdirect.com.
