I absolutely refuse to put my SRT into storage. In fact, I pledge to drive it every day till I or it no longer is driveable.

Even if there is a hurricane.

Naaa, I'll put it in the carport for a few hours.

I put my baby away yesterday. Did the usual and also jacked it off the ground and put mouse traps around it to keep the mice out.

Ha, I'm just now starting to drive mine more often. Here in south centeral Indiana, (FARM LAND) there are so many bugs during the summer every time I drove it it was just covered with bugs. And since it's not a daily driver and parked in the play toy part of my garage I couldn't stand to see it covered with bugs so I would have to clean it up. Now that the weather is a little cooler, corn & beans are picked the bugs are not so bad. I've had the car 13 months and it only has 2,660 mile's on it, the play toy part of my garage is heated to around 60 degrees in the winter so I really don't winterize anything.
The play toy part of my garage contains: 64.5 Mustang, 2005 SRT-6, 2001 John Deere 4X4 4100 w/ loader(158 hrs), 2004 Soft tail Deuce (5,200 mile's), 2005 John Deere 130, 2006 Kawasaki 610 4X4 Camo Mule (56 hrs)

I will be driving an AWD Tsi Talon for the snowy months so I don't loose out on all the excitement, just most of it.

SRT6-MAN, is that you I see in the Champlin area every now and then??
Hey Blue Pearl,

I work up in Ramsey, so it might be me you see or I have noticed a Blaze Red limited up here as well. I drive 169 every day to work from the Plymouth area. I drive an Aero Blue coupe as well- aren't you the Mike that bought the used SRT-6 with 20000 miles on the odometer from Brooklyn Chrysler?

John

OK everyone who stores their Crossfires.........
I just wanted to know how you decide when to actually begin to store your car. What is the criteria used here? I don't plan to drive mine in the Chicago winter snow but I will drive it right up until the first snow and periodically during the winter months when the roads are dry. After all, those heated seats feel pretty good on a cold morning. Just wondering ???

I put mine away when they forecast a storm that I know they will salt the roads. Once the salt flies it is parked till after the first big rain storm in late april early may. I park it in the storage area away from home from now till it is off permanently.

Being in Dallas makes it hard to relate to you guys up north. Shorts, T shirts and flip flop weather here.

What size car jacket did you guys buy/use? The 10 by 15.5 for $200 or the 10.5 by 16.5 for $230?

And how do you guys hook up the battery tender when it is in the car jacket? Wouldn't the wires running in and out allow rodents an entrance?

You can remove the battery and hook it up to a tender.

Not to rub it in or anything but sunny and 84 today.

Just having fun. I used to live in Pa. and had the same as what you are describing. This is my second winter here in Texas and I am looking forward to 50-70 all winter.

Sorry I missed the last-run. It's nice to know a few more people out here in great Minn. Minnesota is crazy, one day 70 degrees next day 34 degrees. I look forward to 2008 with some new upgrades!

Fear not intrepid northerners! When spring comes we will have a Running of the Crossfires! It's a lot like the Running of the Bulls in Spain, just quicker and a LOT more fun!

Anyone?
If I understand it the car measures 14' L x 5' H x 6' W. Wouldn't that be a 11' x 14' (if there were such a beast)?

anyone have ideas on anything special that has to be done to put the crossfire away for the winter? It will be in a garage with a car cover, but temperature still reaches -30C without the windchill. any help would be great.
