group buy for asp pulleys for srt6
"I heard there was a special tool you could get from MB. Are you going to be sending some instructions on to put it on? "
no one has these local, i just ordered 20 of them to be shipped in, the 3 kits here will ship today and the sockets for the belt tensioner will ship once they arrive here, it is a E-10 female torx socket, if you have one in your toolbox please let me know.
"Do you plan on getting an ECU tune rob to go along with the pulleys?"
not at this point in time, i think we have enought other goodies in the works to break into the 11's on the stock computer
"Any update on the next shipment of pulleys?"
they were aiming for first week of january, were there now so ill give them a few days before i start bugging them, i expect to hear somethign from them shortly, i will keep the thread updated, i believe the rest will all come in one shipment.

all the e-10 sockets arrived aswell as a new oil filter for everyone...

the instructions in the kit are pretty straight forward so i don't need to rewrite them just add some pics for you guys...
belt diagram.. (We are changing #4, #8 and #1. The tensioner is #9)

Awesome - going out tomorrow? Or monday?
depends if they arrive at 10am or 5pm tomorrow
How long was the install?
about an hour, most of which was looking for the e-10 socket
How did you hold the crank to break the pulley loose?
when the fan shroud is removed there is room for a 1/2" impact gun down there, i used the impact to get it off, then tightened by fingers to get the threads started and used the impact to tighten it up. id recommend checking the torque after with a proper torque wrench
please also check the belt all the way around after install to make sure its seated properly, you can also have someone in the car to bump the starter (you will have to quickly reverse the key and pull it out to stop the starter cycle) so you can see the belt spin around for the first time with the new pulleys on to make sure the belt is straight. the pics above show how the belt rides on the new pulleys incase you forget to look at the stock setup before you pull it off

ups just dropped them off here, look for tracking numbers on monday, i cant get them done today before the fedex truck shows up in ~ 10 minutes
I can't seem to find what size the ASP pully is? Is it 178, 181, 185mm? Has anybody dynoed with just this pulley yet?
I just ordered my complete SL55 intake assembly and will be looking to get a pulley around tax time..........and I want the most(reliable) power possible.

That's what the stupid engine cover is for. LOL. Is there any chance of you organizing a GB with the 181 or 185 pulleys? If I'm gonna dump near or over a grand on a pulley I want the most power possible.

I did some homework and I do like the ASP pulley for a lot of reasons. It's a safe, proven pulley that doesn't require an ECU tune. (But should have one anyway)
I choose LET's 185mm pulley for the same reason, Max boost for about the same price. I can't wait until I get it installed and get my SRT in for a dyno tune. By the way - the 185mm pulley uses the stock belt.
