I took my car to the track today for the first time (me and the car). I've never driven a car on the track in my life period! The car did amazing, first run 12.799 @ 109.72 second run 12.982 @ 109.17. The car hooked well and amazed even the tower announcer! He said wow what a cute little starfire? Then wow that car is really fast! Timeslips should be up soon @dragtimes.com under jeff croy, Maryland International Raceway, 11/25/07.

I'm in Prince Frederick, about 20 miles south of Upper Marlboro or 1 hr south of Laurel.
Great job at the track! It's a fun car for sure!
Now it's time for some mods and low 12's.
Congrats. You must know something about MIR that I don't. I've been up there twice and couldn't get it done either time. The best time I've ever run up there is only a 13.46. I can never get my car to hook worth a **** at MIR. Good to see that someone was able to figure it out.

Wow!!! Weather conditions must have been perfect. That's a great time with just a CAI. It's just a tenth slower than someone with a renntech pulley and ecu tune. Do you know what the temperature and humidity was that day you ran? I'd like to do a track comparison.

Timeslip is at dragtimes.com, temp was 51 degrees as for humidity I have no idea (was overcast) Maybe guy with renntech wasn't as aggressive with launch and or/ staying in it all the way down?
From the Sea level ET and Trap Speed calculator that I used, your conditions couldn't have been more perfect. Cold enough to get all that power and humid enough to get traction. Here is the results based on a run around 1pm. The track conditions was even better around 10:30 am that morning.
Based on:
Temp: 51°
Humidity: 43%
Track Altitude: 80 feet
Pressure: 30.32 in.
Density Altitude = -818 feet ET MPH
Uncorrected 12.79 @ 109.72
Corrected 12.89 @ 108.87
For the calculators do a search on the forum for track calculator. ChiTown also set his times on one of the best days possible. Weather sure plays a big part, it's why John Force Racing has a full weather station in one of the diesels at every stop on the circuit. Great time and skill, we all know it takes a certain amount of finesse to harness that power to the track.

I don't really know about all the science, but it was 10:30 am on the first run, and about 1:00 pm and a little more sun and temp for the second and it slowed down some, so this seems about right.
My track temp has to be 50 degrees with 30 percent humidity to see if my car will run comparable numbers. Weather is getting good here, so maybe sometime this month. My track is 1,100 above sea level. Yours is only 80 ft above sea level. Thanks again for the post. My first time out stock ran 13.5 at 90 degrees, but if I adjusted the conditions to the best possible, it would have corrected it to a 12.9. So can't wait to try it again for real numbers. The timeslip is what counts. The rest is speculation, but fun.
