Default All Polished Up & Going Nowhere

Last weekend I spent a whole day cleaning up my baby to put it away for the winter. I had the front wheels off to take them to have them rebalanced because of a little steering wheel shimmie at 60 mph, so I even detailed inside the fenderwells. I gave it a real good waxing and it was so slick I couldn't hardly get the car cover on it by myself.

Nice job! Lucky you though. The weekends have always been so bad here this fall I haven't had a chance to detail the roadster for winter. Oh well, there will be a nice day one of these days.

That's some serious bracketry on the wall holding those engine stands.

Nice clean car too!

Thumbs up Re: All Polished Up & Going Nowhere

Steve,

It looks Great & I wish you an early Spring!

It was in the 70's here in the Dragon's Den this past weekend, & I broke in the "new" Coupe on those 318 turns twice.
(May have Snow flurries here on Sunday, so it goes in the mountains).

An Early Spring to all!

Bill (SF)

First of all let me tell you I like my heated garage and it is decorated too but your garage KICKS A*S !! Actually it looks sort of like a poll barn. Is it attached to the house ?? I also was wondering what the black car is sitting next to the Crossfire. Oh and I should mention the car looks great !!

My car has only had a hose taken to it 2 times, the day after I bought it,(OCT. 06) and once after I got caught in the rain when it wasn't suppost to rain. The day last weekend I cleaned it up, I had 1 bucket of hot mild soapy water & 1 bucket of just hot water to wipe it down and done it where it's sitting in the picture's. Then I used a chamois to dry it & then "wax on - wax off".

Thanks, the deck under the table is off my 4x4-4100 JD, I bought new in 2001 it only has 173 hours on it, I mainly use it for the loader. It's about too big for a lawn mower though. Behind the SRT6 under a cover is a 2006 120 JD that I mow with, I got the deck off it sitting under the back of 64&1/2 Stang to save space.

Thanks for all the compliments on the garage, it's not attached to the house and it's not a pole barn. It's 32' deep & 44' wide, designed & built by me including the brick. It has a 14' x 32' upstairs and there is a walled off section between the center & right door in the pic I'm posting it's 16'x24', that's where I park my daily driver. The "toy box" part where the SRT 6 sits is heated and is 32' deep & 28' wide with a 16'x8' tool/bench area, there is a garage on the house, but that one is for the wife. Good guess Shawn on the 64&1/2 Stang , believe or not that little Stang would give the SRT6 a pretty good race.

It looked to be the 289 emblems on your Mustang. It must not be stock if it is a 13 second car??

It was an orignal 260, but now is a 289 bored .40 over with Keith Black flat top high compression pistons. It has rollor rockers, nice street & strip cam and the heads were custom built. They have 1.94 Chevy 350 intake valves and the chambers were all cut out & polished. The pistons had to be notched out to accomodate the bigger valves, then the piston skirts were drilled to balance them. It also has a Edelbrock RPM high rise and a jetted out 750 Holly with a inch and a half spacer under it. I just changed out the third member about a month ago, they were 3:55's, (2,950 RPM) at 60 mph. Kept having over heating problems out on the highway so I changed them to 3:25's (2,600 RPM at 60 mph now).Headers with 2&1/2" exhaust with Flow Masters, too much other stuff to list & don't want Admin. to get on to me since this is the SRT 6 section.

For the questions about the wheels & tire's, the wheels are Stern ST-8 Hyper Mesh, 8.5x18" w/10mm spacers on front & 9.5x19" w/20mm spacers on back. Tires are Michilan PS2's, 245/35/18's on the front and 285/35/19's on the rear.
