i had those badges installed about a year ago in the same location that other amgs have them installed in

 

Sidez, I knew I had seen them on somebody's car here on the forum, I just couldn't remember who it was.
I noticed them on EBAY this morning and just thought I'd post em in case anybody was interested.

 

they are very good and should of been on the car stock... as it is an amg car and all amg cars have those badges.. ie the c32 and slk32 have those same badges.. we should have them as welll

I bought a couple of "Deutschland" emblems and mounted one on each side above the strakes on the front fenders. I'm sure nobody knows what to make of the emblems...

 

I just ordered the first set. Think I'll put them above the strakes. Sidez, how did (are) they holding up? The only thing I'm worried about is removing them in the future and having a paint fade issue. Well, the car stays in the garage most of the time any way.

 

they are attached by double sided 3m tape.. it stays on rather firmly and will not detach from normal driving, but if you want to detach it.. it would not be very difficult at all...

I had them on for say 6k miles? and they still look and stay on the same way they did when i first installed them...

I bought a set back when I first got my SRT. I haven't applied them yet. They'll have to wait until spring now. But I'm also thinking of removing the Chrysler, CROSSFIRE and SRT6 badges off the back and putting the AMG badges on the back. I'm nervous about removing the old badges though. I'd hate to mess them up or mess up the paint.

 

It was easy. The AMG is the black chrome badge under the passenger tailight:

 

Nice! I'm surprised that you put it under the taillight rather than on the trunk where the SRT6 badge was.

 

I've had two other AMG cars. The standard AMG badges are always on the far right corner of the upper trunk vertical surface (and sometimes there are also much smaller ones on the lower front chin, too). I decided to follow convention and to go more with the "rightmost" positioning rather than on the more-centered hatch cover, but I agree that it could easily have gone either way. The lower taillight positioning is slightly more discreet, too.

 

I like it. I would've never thought of putting it there. I think when I do mine, I will mimic yours. That way we'll have a standard.

 

Car looks nice, but I'm not too sure about the AMG stuff. Yes, I know what our cars really are, but to many, it may give the impression that you are trying to pass a 25k dollar for a 70-80k dollar car. "Ha, look at that dude, he's trying to make his Chrysler look like a fake Mercedes!" Of course someone like that wouldn't know the facts of the car, but that is true for most. I mean, yes, it is essentially an AMG car, but we didn't pay AMG prices; therefore, we don't really warrant the bragging rights according to the snob patrol. To the masses, it may just look like you are trying to make the car out to be something that it is not. Well, then again, who cares what the masses think any way!

 

to each his own. I see where you are coming from about the XFire being much cheaper than a "real" AMG but thats an individual choice. I actually once saw a toyota MR2 Spyder with Porsche emblems on it. Imagine what a Porsche owner would say to that...

 

Agreed; but we know better than the masses do on this one. The SRT6 is an AMG vehicle, and I'm not worried about what uninformed poseurs might think. I have had two other "real" AMG cars (both sedans; still have one), but I honestly believe the SRT6 carries the AMG heritage better than they did. We're not trying to pass off something as what it is not but, rather, as what it really is. The true "heritage" of the SRT6 is AMG, not Chrysler, which contributed virtually nothing to the important mechanical parts of the model. If anything is false about the branding, it's the Chrysler logo. And if the ignorant snob patrol doesn't like it, then they can just shove it.

 

I've been thinking... a dangerous habbit really...

Anyway, I'm thinking that if I remove the Crossfire and SRT6 badge from the trunk, I might want to remove the Chrysler logo from the "wings", and replace it with an AMG badge.

Then I thought, wait a sec, the car isn't totally AMG, it's more of a Karmann creation than anything. So I went looking for a Karmann badge. There's not much out there, and nothing that will fit in the circular Chrysler spot. I thought about making one up, using the 6 pointed wheel logo from Karmann, and having the the words Karmann and Onsabruck around the outside, kinda like the circular AMG badges.

Of course, I'd have to put one on the front, and on the wheel caps too. How hard are those things to get off? I know some people are replacing them with the custom Crossfire logos, so it shouldn't be too hard, right?
