Default T-BONED!!! (viewer discretion is advised)

Well, I'm having a GREAT new years eve. Went out to get some cheese and wine for tonight, and someone decided to make a left turn across 3 lanes into the side of my car while chatting on their cell phone as I drove through an intersection. *sigh* Had 3,300 miles on the clock this morning.

This is what a Honda CRV does to the side of a Crossfire SRT-6 at 25 mph.

Slid me over about 4 feet, but the drivers door sure held up well. The interior panel did come in slightly and I think my left arm is going to be bruised pretty good, but the car held firm against that tin-can of a Honda.

Oh man that is a sad sight indeed. It certainly spoils a new years eve celebration too. I know if it were me I would have a hard time enjoying myself knowing my baby was damaged. Well at least it doesn't look like deep structural damage so hopefully the repairs won't be to difficult and it won't be in the body shop for weeks. Best of luck to getting her back the way she was and I hope your left arm gets better right away.

Gary

Glad you're ok, but I hope this doesn't turn into the body shop has had my car for 3 months, because they can't get parts posts.

I think the driver's side A-pillar has been shoved in about a half an inch or so...the door is now crushed into the side of the dash. Don't know if that's fixable...but it sure isn't enough to total the car, so I'll be the owner of a Crossfire with a nasty wind whistle, and poorly latching door from now on, that is worthless on trade-in because of the CARFAX report. Life is good.

Thankfully, the 2001 Zenato Amerone, English Shropshire, Goat Milk Gouda, and 5 year old Gouda all survived the wreck unscathed! Whew, that was a close one!

That just SUCKS big time!!! Did your side air bag blow? And did you get any wheel damage? If that would have happened to me, I'd probably be in jail right now and the person in the other car would be in the hospital getting a cell phone removed from their a$$. Hope you have good luck with the repair's.

Thankfully you were not seriously hurt and that you still have your sense of humor after all this. I think you will be ok.

Atom-Heart, sorry to hear about about the spoiled steak. Next time, stay
away from the T-bone and get a Rib-eye. Much more tender. Seriously,
glad you were'nt more severely injured. Here's to hoping that your X-fire
heals as quickly as does your arm (or would that curse your with a bum
arm for the next many weeks/months). Glad to hear that the wine and
cheese survived.

BTW, I don't see any air-bags in the picture. Did the side and side-curtain
bags deploy?

Coyote

OUCH! Glad to hear the wine and the Gouda made it OK. You may be a little sore tommorrow so that wine should really come in handy tonight. Good Luck on the repairs.. '08 has to be better, Happy New Year.

Negative on airbag deployment. Those things must be set to go off on HARD, cuz this one knocked me senseless for a few seconds, and I was very surpised to look down and see the side aircurtain did not deploy. I then looked up to see the girl that hit me through her windshield as she lipped the words, "I just had a wreck, I'll call you back." into her cell-phone. BAH-HUMBUG!!!

That's a real bummer but at least you're OK. Are handheld cellphones allowed in CO. Did she get a ticket?

Yes, cellphones are legal in CO but if they cause an accident that is an additional charge. She was ticketed for "Taking Right of Way" and for the cell phone usage.

That's interesting...how do I go about doing that? How do I even find out how much its been devalued from being in a serious accident?

Terribly sorry to see this, bro. Good to see that you're safe though and escaped w/o breaking anything or getting injured.

Have a safe New Year's Eve man...
