Default Kompressor

Ok, enough of the badge arguments. I put some on mine to make people wonder, add a little something different to the car, tie the AMG heritage to the car, and what the heck, they can be removed.

I like the heck out of 'em.

Why is it such an unacceptable thing to some folks? People are quick to brag and point to the AMG casting into the car's supercharger... which in Germany, is called a Kompressor.

Oh, gee! Our cars were built in Germany too!! Gee, our cars have the exact same motor as a 3.2 Mercedes badged with "Kompressor"!!! What a coincidence!!

Let them hate, LOL. I think it looks awesome. Might even do it on mine when I get it.

Actually, I think it is the folks that get all bent about rebadging that are the driving force behind my desire to rebadge mine. I think will go with and AMG logo on the trunk, and AMG replacements for the wing badges and wheel hubs. And I've already got the V6 Kompressor badges for the fenders.

The only realy question is whether to put a could Karman badges on it somewhere...

Do you think you'll be getting just a lil too over the top and tacky with all those badges? I guess I'm just one of those people who find putting AMG or mercedese badges on the car a lil tacky anyway. I mean I have no problem proclaiming my car is basically an AMG to people, but if I were to put badges they would definitely be srt6 badges not AMG or mercedes. I just find it tacky putting a different automakers badge on a car its not. Its like someone with the older saturn redline putting "powered by honda" on the windshield or putting "honda vtec". True its a honda engine, but its a saturn. If you wanted to be proud of a honda and proclaim it with badges, then buy a honda. Just my 2 cents.

IMO, subtle is the best way to go.......I bought some really nice AMG chrome lisence plate frames just to let people know whats up It doesn't have to be painted all over the car. I also like the srt6 badges that look like the other srt badge line-up. Still trying to find out how to get them. Can't really get a clear answer on those.......

I would say a different location. Below the back right tail light for the kompressor decal? then the v6 emblem somewhere near the "vents"?

Personally I enjoy people not knowing what a SRT6 on the road is and wanting to race. I enjoy giving them an education. What`s wrong with saying "It`s a SRT6" and teaching the public what we have instead of saying "It`s basically an AMG 32".

About a month ago I had a 350z trying to get my attention. I looked over and it was a gay with his wife or g/f in the passenger seat. I nailed it and left him sitting. At the next light we were lined up. Light turned, I let him leave first and he took off hard so I floored the srt6 and once again beat him. He ended up behind me in my lane at the next light (traffic was starting to build). In the mirror I noticed him pointing with his finger to the area of the car where the srt6 badge is. I can only assume he was telling the woman in the car that`s why he got his *** handed to him.

Now one more person respects the srt6`s. I like it that way. I say be proud you drive an srt6, not because it`s basically an AMG but because it`s a SRT6.

You guys don't seem to get it. I KEPT THE SRT-6 badges, just added the AMG Kompressor badges to create a tie to the dual heritage of the vehicle.

Me too, that's why my license plate is SRT-SIX and all the original badges are there. Just added a little something to an area of the car that looks like a factory location if it were an AMG car (which it is). As for tacky, no, it looks really subtle, factory, and fits the car actually.

To each their own; I think it looks fine - just not my thing.

I plan on removing every possible wing and badge on my XF.

When I am done - only the wing on the hood (which has Dan Root's emblem) that I custom painted - don't know what else would work there but I am open to ideas. With the Chrysler badge removed it doesn't look to much like a Chrysler wing.

The wing the trunk lid - soon to be gone!
The wing on the steering wheel - soon to be gone!
The wing on the engine cover - (already gone!)
The "CROSSFIRE" on the trunk lid - (already gone)

I'll also leave the "SRT" on the plenum covers, headrest, dash panel and wheel centers.

Did I miss anything?

I really like that Emblem a lot!
What did you custom paint on the Emblem?

To distantpulse or whoever North America part number for the SRT 6 badges is 1-05140794AA or the Germany number is A1938170015 7f24. Also mysterious number on package is 11016987. These were ordered through Chrysler parts. Also be proud of your SRT 6!!!

Why do you despise chrysler so much? If you wanted a mercedes so bad then why didnt you just buy one? Is it embarrassing for you to have a chrysler badge on your car or something? I honestly don't like most things Chrysler makes either, but I know and everybody else knows my car is one. Like it or not, badges or no badges, its STILL A CHRYSLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To each his own I guess, but I just find that ridiculous.

Ok, as with many threads on this website, things are getting out of hand. Thank you for your opinions. The Kompressor badges are staying for a while as are the SRT6 emblems. You know why? Because this car is a Crossfire SRT6 and the V6 Kompressor refers to the supercharged v6 engine; therefore, both work.

I love my Chrysler!

Perhaps you miss-read or miss-understood my post. When did I say I despised Chrysler? I just hate the look of the wing. I actually like all Chrysler products, especially the 300C (which was what I was considering when I was on the lot and the Crossfire caught my eye) I would remove the wings from it too.

I understand that Cerberus Capitol is even going to drop the wing!!

You won't find any added MB logos or badges on my Chrysler (other then what is screened on all the components) - Heck I even purchased personalized plates that say SRT6.

I not embarrassed by the Chrysler name in the least. I just like a clean - unclutered body that's easy to wash and wax.

Take a chill.
