Default I Did It!

I Brought one home yesterday! '05 Black SRT Coupe 11,000 miles. I love it. If it would just stop snowing now so I could enjoy it. It will be my everyday driver but it looks so beautiful I can hardly bring myself to pull it out of the garage in this weather.

Man, don't do it!! Go spend a couple grand on a beater truck or Hyundai or something. You will kick yourself for driving that rare, beautiful car in the snow and salt!! I mean really, I see decent winter beaters all the time for $1,200 to $1,500 bucks. That would save you tons of heart ache in the future. My SRT doesn't see rain, salt, or snow, EVER! I drive my 2000 F150 with 105,000 miles and it's never let me down.

congrats, i picked up the same on sept 15. i was able to enjoy it before winter came but dont drive it in the winter. im rocking a 02 neon with many problems for my winter car. its hard to not bring it out as i want to drive it all the time, but it will be worth it in the long run keeping it looking perfect by not driving in the salt/snow

Congrats, I agree with everyone else, get a beater, especially when it snows Crossfires are not the best in snow. My Crossfire doesn't get driven in snow or rain. The best part is every time i take it out again it feels like i'm driving a new car again.
By the way, best looking Crossfires are black.

Congrats - and drive it all the time...bag the beater idea - the car is not going to "appreciate" only the other way and its too much fun to drive.

You did it !!!

And it feels great doesn't it. I did it to last April and I am still smiling 10,000 miles later. I to wish the winter was over and I could just go for a drive any day but for now it's out only when the roads a dry and clear. Welcome to the forum.

I know what you guys are saying. i've had some cars in the past that never saw the rain or snow. Cars that I kept in immaculate shape and then some fool ran into me and all that care was immediately worthless. But as I've aged I have come to the realization that most vehicles (like Bflinn stated) only depreciate and they do it rather quickly. Hell, I just bought a $47,000 car 2 years old with 11,000 miles on it for $18,000. Unless you plan to buy a car like this and put it in storage for 20 years and just stare at it you could never consider it a finaincial investment. For me...I'm not getting any younger and I plan to enjoy the car every chance I get. I have a Jeep Liberty and a Jeep Cherokee so if it's really rotten out I won't drive it but most days I'm just going to enjoy it.

Take the new toy out in the rain...that's the best time to drive the car(with traction control off of course). It rained here in Vegas today and I just got back from playing with the 6 on the nice wet roads.

Congrats and enjoy it, a great everyday car! I drove my '04 almost 70k and enjoyed every mile. Now I have my SRT6. And can't wait for the rain to stop here.

$18,000? I think that is the lowest priced SRT6 I've seen yet! How did you pull that one off? Man, I feel like I got ripped off!! LOL! I paid 24k with same mileage.

As for depreciation, yes, most cars depreciate, but it still hurts to see a nice car pitted, scratched, and beat from driving around in the crap weather. Hey, if I keep my SRT pristine, I might be able to get 10 grand out of it in a few years versus 4 grand if it was beat up.
