Default My Offer On An SRT-6 Coupe - Your Opinions?

I'm considering a stablemate for my 2007 Ltd coupe, if I can find a " real bargain ".
I'm offering $17,500, plus tax and tags, for this SRT-6 coupe, which has 24,500 miles and the remainder of the 3yr/36K warranty, for another 15 months or 11,500 miles.
The Auto Check history says it was leased for 14 months and 24,000 miles, at Lake Orion, MI. Does this indicate a Chrysler employee lease?
I would value your insight.

Guy locally to me is offering one for 18.9k with 19k miles on it and another one wants 20k for 22k miles. Your offer seems reasonable with their values still dropping and the cars not moving. Folks want something they're familar with (mustangs or other 4 seater) and not 2 seater coupes.

Doesn't matter what we think, only what the dealer thinks.

The car has been there for a few months and it's the end of the month. So, I think the dealer will eventually agree, if I hold out.
I don't think 24,000 miles, in 14 months, really bothers me. I believe it is better for cars to be driven; rather than sit.
The real question is do I want to pay $17,500, for it?

Exclamation Re: My Offer On An SRT-6 Coupe - Your Opinions?

Those 5 Auto Auctions in a row every month in the History from 7/07 to 10/07, could indicate a problem?
I'd have it checked out very thoroughly!

Very good point.
Does it mean that it didn't sell or that dealers would buy it and dump it a month later?

lake orion is very close to auburn hills michigan where the tech center is, i'd bet a dollar it was an employee lease (as ours was). i can recommend a great local to there mercedes place to have the car lifted up and checked out before you purchase it.

POTENTIAL BUYER BEWARE!

I am 99% sure that I test drove that car about 2 months ago at that dealership and it had a small, but significant list of issues.

- I/C pump was failed and the S/C would not engage as has been talked about often before on here which is why I took it out on the highway and let it really get up to temperature to find the problem.

- Floormats were non-existent.

- NAV DVD's were missing.

- 1 Key that looked like someone's dog had eaten it.

- Front tires ready for replacement.

- Interior of trunk/hatch looked like someone had been loading and unloading things that just did not/couldn't fit in the trunk. Tons of scuff marks all over the place that didn't look like they would clean off easily.

- Scuff on front bumper that would require repainting or replacement.

If you can look past all of that, they were willing to sell it to me for $20k. Good luck!

srtdrew,
The car is at Darcars, in Silver Spring, MD.
If it's the one you are talking about, I definitely don't want it.
Thanks very much for the info.

If it was driven, like it was cared for (not), even if you still look past all of that above, I still wouldn't want it.

I agree!
Thanks to the info, from srtdrew, I saved a 300 mile roundtrip and notified the dealer that I'm no longer interested.

No problem! I'm 99.9% sure it's the same car, but I didn't save the VIN or anything from when I test drove it. Having said that, the dealership, color, and mileage are pretty much spot on. Glad I could help!
