SRT-6 Warrantee?
Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum, just sold my SRT-4, and I'm about to purchase a 2005 SRT-6 from my local CarMax this week, it's being shipped in now. I have a question. I was wondering what the factory warrantee is on the SRT-6 model and if it is transferable in my situation. I don't really trust what used car dealers tell you these days because all they want you to do is buy their warrantees. CarMax offers a 30,000 miles warrantee on the entire car for about $1,400, which is about $25 a month extra. I am a little concerned about the little things I have been reading about like the IC pump, and odds and ends going wrong with the car. It doesn't have the lowest mileage on it (29k), so I don't know if it would be a good idea or not to get the warrantee. What do ya'll think?

Best of luck!

Will do, I tried searching for "Warrantee" first before I posted in the SRT-6 section, but came up empty-handed
The OEM 3 year/36k miles warranty should be transferable. The trick may be to find the original date of service of the vehicle. That's when the warranty clock starts ticking. I just bought a 2005 SRT6 with 8200 miles and it has until March 2009 on the warranty.
I had the dealer throw in the 8yr/80,000 mile warranty. Now, just have to find a competant service center. That is the most difficult part. Warranties don't mean squat if you can't find someone to work on the car. Countless threads about that.
$1400 for 30,000 miles? That sounds like a rip-off to me. I got a Chrysler Max-Care warranty for 7 years/75,000 for less than that.
And if I'm not mistaken, I believe you have to take your car back to Car-Max for repairs if you purchase their warranty, is that correct?

Many of us have true "Chrysler" extended warranties on our Crossfires. They are available from many sources on the net at a substantial discount over list prices. Tod64k, who is on these forums, is one such dealer.
Don't mean to bust your chops, but make sure you spell your search term, such as "warranty", correctly when searching on topics on these forums as the search engine is rather unforgiving of mistakes (and thus won't find what you're looking for).

Chrysler offers different terms, deductibles, etc., and some of it depends on the timeframe and mileage. In my case, I purchased my vehicle as a brand new car, and purchased a Chrysler new car extended warranty - complete coverage, 60k mi, 7 yrs, 0 deductible, around $1200. But they had options galore; items covered, miles, terms and deductibles - and payment plans too!
