Default SRT Track Experience

I just bought my SRT-6 about a week ago from the dealer as a new car and I was wondering if it comes with the SRT Track Experience just like the SRT4's and the SRT8's ect. come with. I'd appreciate any input.

How did you buy it as a "new" car. I am under the understanding that all the SRT's even if they were not registered before were not able to be sold as "new" compared to a 2007 or 2008.

The car was never titled before and had no previous owners. It had never left the dealer up until the moment i took it home. If this doesn't make it clear I'm not sure exactly what you are saying than.

Bubba,

What he is saying is that several of these cars were bought back by Chrysler, and then auctioned off to dealers that wanted them.

For instance, my car had 8 miles on it when I test drove it - but it wasn't 'NEW' because the Chrysler dealer I bought it from was the first owner. They bought it from Chrysler when they auctioned the remaining '05s off.

If your dealer in fact has had the car on their lot since '05, and it is indeed new, you should be entitled to your SRT-6 Luggage AND your SRT Track Experience. However, I would be willing to bet that you are the 2nd owner, and your dealer is the first owner...even though the car is technically 'NEW'.

When does your warranty expire? If it is ~2/27/10, then your car is likely an auction car.

I live about five minutes away from the dealer that I bought the car from and I can almost gurantee that it has been there since 2005. Also, my warranty, according to my dealer, started from the point I put the down payment on the car a week ago so it will end in 02/2011. So I'm thinking i should be entitled to the luggage and the Track Experience.

It sure sounds like it to me. If that's the case, give your dealer a call and raise some hell if they try to tell you otherwise.

Congrats on the purchase!

I bought my 05 in august of 07 and from everything I have read and been told, Chrysler initiated the warranties in feb. 07 and though they have never been privately owned, they are technically used cars and therefore you don't get the swag. If you find anything different please let us know.

I don't have an SRT6 I have a limited. Bought it with 16 miles for $19,000. (ebay) alabaster with cedar/slate int. and 6spd.
By the way, that was my first ever use of one of those smiley face things !

There are three ways to check if you are eligible to attend the track experience for free. First is to look at your window sticker to see if it list the track experience as an option. If not, then you don't qualify for a free attendance.

Second is to check the build date of your 6. If it was built on or before April 1st 2005 then you don't qualify.

Third is to go to drivesrt.com and registar. If you need to provide a credit card number to registar then you don't qualify for a free attendance.

I attended the track experience not realizing I wasn't eligible and had a $500 charge put on my credit card. I was able to successfully fight the charge due to contradictory information from Chrysler's website and unrealistic eligibility conditions imposed by SRTTE.

By the way, after that little incident drivesrt.com revised their eligibility requirements.

Since your warranty started at the day of purchase then you are the first owner but as noted above, it's not guaranteed that you're eligible for a free TE attendance. You are eligible, however, for the luggage. The luggage should ship within a couple of months and is really high quality stuff. The luggage is listed as "Touring Gear" on the window sticker.

No worries they're all nice, can't go wrong with any model you get especially with those interior colors. And hopefully next time you use those smiley face icons it won't be a frown. Thanks for the replies.

Just dont want to have you get stuck with a $500 charge like me. And unlike me, you won't be able to use the loopholes to get out of the charge like I did because they don't exist anymore.

My SRT was built before April '05 but they didn't charge me. I don't know why and I didn't ask. Maybe I got lucky.

I wrote up my SRT Track Experience here: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=18847

i purchased mine the dealer states they Punched the car i guess that means the dealer registered the car
the Chrysler dealer I bought it from was the first owner. They bought it from Chrysler when they auctioned the remaining '05s off.
got a good deal had like 170 miles i think, i was the first title listed
went in service the day i purchased it ...

also the dealer said they got like 30.000 from chrysler on discounts..
got the car for 23.995 if i remember correctly list 45.985
dont see a Track Experience listed on the winder sticker
build date 09/2004

You're just striking out all over the place.

Drivesrt.com has the requirement that your car had to to be built after Apr 1, 2005 to qualify but when I registared about a year and a half ago the requirement was that your car had to be ORDERED after Apr 1 2005. Silly me thought that since I bought my 6 off the lot then this order requirement did not apply. Guess what? I was right - that little bit about ordering referred to when the DEALER ordered the car. Turns out my dealer had technically ordered my car in Mar 04. Pretty neat trick since my car was built in Jul 04. So the dealer merely put in a request for x number of 6s and mine was shipped when it became available. One of my arguments in contesting the credit card charge was that the order requirement made no sense because my car could not have been ordered specifically since it had not been built yet. I also used the argument that the order requirement was misleading since no one would think that it referred to the dealer.

I attended the TE in Oct 06, got my credit card statement in Nov 06, contested the charge right away and the charge was dropped in Dec 06. Right about the same time the wording was changed from ordered to built. And I have a sneaky little suspicion that that was because of me.

The other major argument I used was that at the time Chrysler.com listed the track experience as a feature of the 6 with no restrictions noted. Now of course Chrysler.com doesn't list the 6 as a Crossfire model anymore so that little tidbit is no longer available.

Good news team . Funny how things work, I just recieved a letter from the Chrysler dealer I got my SRT6 roadster off of inviting me to a track day at our local race track - a Chrysler day at the track with some Formula 1 engineer - AND BEST OF ALL ITS FREE . We get to use the whole track too - the 300C 's see 240km/h at the end of the straight so should get a chance to wind the SRT up
