Sideswiped at 65!!
Yep, as the title says, no matter how careful you are, things happen. Today I was in the "slow" lane, cruising at 65 and minding my own business when out of the corner of my eye or the driver side mirror, I'm not sure which, I see a car coming at me. I swerved towards the railing but was unsuccsessful. I was hit at my rear wheel which dented the rear quarter panel and scraped the bumper where it wraps around. The rear wheel also shows wear all the way around the wheel. I must say that at no time did I feel the car get out of control or fishtail.
My wife says maybe I was there to save this guys life. If he had not hit me, he would have hit the center divider pretty hard. He said he was reaching for a bottle of water and the Mazda 6 went the direction of his grab. Who knows. I am heart broken at a silly dent and a screwed up bumper but thankful that at 65 mph, nothing of importance was lost. I believe more and more in these cars as I drive them.

Sorry to hear the bad news...happy nobody was hurt!
I've noticed more and more people out of their lane recently...'course they are just avoiding Michigan potholes most of the time. I can't imagine driving a SRT around here...I'd need new fillings!

Funny how I was not mad but just hearbroken. I'll see if I can bring myself to get pictures tomorrow AM before leaving the house. God watches out for children and drunks (or something like that).
Sorry to hear, Punkin! Glad you're OK!
If I remember correctly, don't they teach you all about the "reach & turn the wheel at the same time" thing in driver's ed.?

Bummer to hear of the property damage... glad to hear of no health damage.
It is amazing how stable these cars are, even in an emergency situation.
Keep us posted Punkin! *HUGS*

Glad you are OK, the car can be repaired....here are a few pics of what was left of our 97' Sebring JXi when my wife and I were side swiped at 60mph with the top down. We were extremely lucky flipped over twice and hit a tree and then landed chasis side up. My Wife and I had to be cut out of the car and only sustained minor injury.

Pumpkin,
Your car will be fixed and your broken heart will heal. Glad nobody was injured. Gary
CrossfireLTD,
WOW ...I would have never thought anyone had come out and survived based upon those pics.
You certainly had the man upstairs on your side that day.
A survival story to say the least. WOW......Gary

Punkin, glad to hear You and Your Wife came out OK. Thank God. It's always good to know the damage was minor too. By the way, which one of your Crossfires was it?
I sure hope they shoot that "space junk" out of the sky soon, because if they don't, I have no doubt it's going to come down on top of a Crossfire.
Sometimes I think these cars are jinxed.

+fireamx,
It was my SRT6. It is my daily driver. I figure life is to short, the price is to right, and the fun is to much not to drive it till the wheels fall off. The damage to the wheel goes allllllll the way around. Still drives OK. Looking for a reputable damage repair place close to home. Any one have ideas?
