Hung in second ...
Check out the ignition key to be sure that it is not binding and in a between normal position, Jiggle it. The blanked out display is indicating that the electronics are not happy, there is electrical issues here. My Dakota had several weird issues because of this key thing.

The code that comes up is for a fault in the electrical Buss. The dealer has changed the shifter module and anti lock brake module ... The Chrysler Engineers tell that these items should be the problem . but it not fixed the problem ....
Can't tell you what the problem is, but it sounds like the being stuck in second and having no power is your car going into limp mode or atleast the trans going into limp mode.
