i know the sl55 has been talked to death.but i have a question about it. i know that it is much bigger than the stock intake and the regular engine cover looks a little weird with it on. does the sl55 engine cover fit on our motor or is there an engine cover that is the same width as the sl55 intake?

edit: i did a search and didnt find anything about this

haha this isnt the first forum ive been on. but does anyone know. i love having an engine cover since my last car was a srt-4. it just seems so much more clean. anyone know if one fits nicely with the sl 55 intake

 

You can modify the stock engine cover to fit onto the sl55 boxes..............it doesn't line up 100% and the color is off(one is silver one is more grey) but it will work.

 

do you know if the sl55 engine cover works? cause its like 3/4s of an inch wider on both sides right? i havent gotten the intake yet. but ive noticed in pictures it does look like a darker color. i just want the engine cover to look like it goes with the intake

 

If I remember on Monday I can see if we have a SL55 in the shop rite now and pull it off real quick for a comparison.

 

ive seen pictures of them on the hundreds of threads about them. i just cant find the one that has the exact amount its bigger.

 

If anyone knows of an SLK320 cover, I'm interested.

 

i also own a slk 32, idk if its the same cover but if i upgrade that intake i will let you know

Researched and found this thread. I see no pictures are shown of the SL55 engine cover. Mine supposedly has one. Bought the car from the original owner. He got it with only 105 miles on it and it had the cover on it when he got it new.

I'd be interested in this one - since the SL55 intake is much valued for those wanting the stock look.
I'm surprised the oil filler cap fits so well....wait with interest.

 

SLK32...not the 55. The 55 will give you more air, which is why most want it.

The air intake shown is not from an SL55 but is from a SLK32
