Warning: Do Not Buy This Car
I found a deal that was to good to be true and it is. There is an 05 SRT Convertible advertised on Kelly Blue Book for $15,990.00 with 1,457 miles on it. I called the guy and told him I was interested. He said that he was in Eurpe with UNICEP and had an ear operation so he could not talk on the phone. We communited by email. He was willing to pay for shipping to me. The car is supposed to be in Philadelphia in a shipping container. I could not inspect the car or go there and pick the car up. He had no contacts with the shipping company that I could speak to. He was going to use ebay Vehicle Protection Plan to protect the buyer and seller. I would have 5 days to inspect the car and if I didn't like it he would pay the shipping back. And one other thing, all the money he got from the car was going to be given to a childrens find. I contacted ebay about their policy and they do not offer a Vehicle Protection Plan unless the car is advertised on ebay. They told me not to but the car. I email this guy back and told him that I contacted ebay and haven't heard from him since. Too many lose ends on this deal. Beware!!!
i found a 63 vett in a crate in europe once lol 8.000.00

I as well saw and responded to this ad. Thinking it was a misprint until further communication made it sound like a scam. Requiring anyone to use Western Union to transfer money is a tip off at the very least. Also, I did some further checking and this scam can be found all over Autotrader and Craigslist. Even though both venues repeatedly inform you about potential scams, the thrill of the deal must override some, or these guys or gals could not continue to flourish.

I saw this one too. I ran a carfax on it first. That checked out, so I emailed him. Got the same story. If the car was available to see, I would have gone to see it, but that tipped me off that it's a scam. I actually did buy an RX-7 under similar circumstances a few years ago. A legit 1995 RX-7 Twin Turbo with 55,000 miles for $9,500 one owner never wrecked. They had to dump it fast for a move out of the USA. The car was easily worth twice that at the time.
I thought Lightning might strike twice, but I guess not.

Wow....I saw it too....actually a day before I got my aero blue SRT coupe. I emailed the guy a few times and he gave me the same story. He said he wanted my full name and address to start the paperwork with Ebay. I was going to call Ebay later that day to check the story, but instead drove an hour and a half a dealership and couldn't be happier!
