Default Chrome window trim????

:?: I am currently looking at the new crossfire and so far am leaning towards the red model at my dealer. My question is; is anybody bothered by the chrome window trim? I kind of think it looks out of place on the car, kind of like the door handles on the 350z. Has anyone loooked into painting it body color? This won't stop me from buying the car because the pluses definately outweigh the minus.

I agree on the red and black colored cars. It does look kinda weird. But it looked ok on white, graphite and the silver/blue hues. Also completely agree on the Z door handles. Totally ugly and out of proportion to the rest of the car. What were they thinking?

I have a black XFire and think the "chrome" really makes the car pop. It's a nice contrast to me. Against the rimes, vents and handles it's a nice touch--but that's only my opinion.

yeah.. I thought that at fist myself. Out of place, but it has grown on me. ....

Isn't it actually some durable, composite plastic? I wish it was a brushed aluminum (but very durable).

When we bought ours, we had our choice. Red or SSB. We thought the red was a very nice color, but coud not live with the window trim. It just seems to stand out to much. But on the SSB it seems to blend in much better. We have even seen the Graphite at our dealer as well as a black one. We are still happy with our first choice.

I agree, I thought it looked out of place when I first got the car, actually its the only thing I didn't like. But it blends in ok on my SSB. I think it stands out too much on the black though.

I purchased the red because the window trip accented the door handles perfect.

Default window trim

I went looking for a black one, and on seeing one I admit to be taken aback by the chrome windshield trim. It ALMOST was a deal breaker...but it's growing on me.

I've got more problem with those silver plastic things on the side vents. They look a little cheesey on the black car. Maybe I'll get them black chromed.

I think the chrome on the black actually looks great and is a nice contrast in just the right areas. Could I do w/o the "chrome" around the winshield--you bet. But it does not bother me at all.

I think it is all subjective, almost like the PT. Some people like the grey bumpers while others can't wait to get them painted. I think it will probably end up like the PT with Chrysler selling it both ways, Maybe a Sport edition with all the Chrome painted Body color???? Who Knows

No, not modifying my 'ride.' Poor effort at sarcasm. That said, I do think those silver bits on the side stand out a little too much. When you approach the red car from a distance, it gives it a bit of a fire engine look. Jumps out a little too much for my tastes on the black, too. I can live with it, though.

Maybe I'll just take them off altogether...

Now a mod/body kit I COULD go with...replace all the front body panels with identical to stock/otherwise indistinguishable carbon fiber to save some weight...

Regardless of how you word it, you are making a personal change. Nothing wrong with that. Just be aware of changes made by others aren't trying to please the majority.

I won't be replying to anymore of these. I have made my point.
