Default New Wheel Covers with black lugs- what do you guys think?

Just want to see what you guys think about the lug covers and caps. There are two pics of the stockers so you can see the difference.

I like the exposed lugs... I'll pass on that cover, though.

I like them both. In fact, I just may do that myself. I really dig the AMG centers and the black lugs would look good on my black car.

How funny - I was thinking the just the opposite - I like the emblem - if it would fit in the OEM hub..

Very nice though

I put the same caps on mine a week or so ago. At first, I hated them, but decided to look at them for a fews days, and I think I was just so used to looking at the Chrysler Cap that these just looked odd and out of place. After a week, I really like them. I also went with Chrome Bolt Caps.

They do fit in the wheel opening, but need to be "adjusted" to fit tightly.

yeah i agree with neverenough. It took some getting used to but after i saw them enough i really started to like them. And as resolving the issue with fittament i just used some temoporary methods to fix it, I'll see how they held up. NeverEnough, I know you decided to heat them up to have them fit better. Could you go into a little more detial on how to fit them perfectly. My duck tape and adhesive felt methods, hah, definitly are a short term solution to the issue with fittament.

I like the lug nuts but not the caps. Is that supposed to be a wire brush and a peach tree?

It makes the eyes focus on the wheel caps instead of the overall car.

It's a valve and spring and an apple tree.

Looks good. What is good about this modification is that you can always go back to original.

Well, I'm not going to say my fitment method was the most graceful or exact, but it worked perfectly for me. These caps fit in the opening easily enough, but are VERY loose. They spin around and rattle badly and have a 1/4 inch open gap.

I thought about it, and decided that I didn't have much to loose if I ruined them. I just happened to have a miniture propane torch(a cigarette lighter would also work). I gently heated the clips until slightly pliable. I then bent them outward slightly. This easily solved the loose fitment problem. However, there was still a very slight 1/16 inch gap still present. I then came to the conclusion that the metal tension ring was no longer needed to help retain the cap. So, I placed it around the outside of the cap at the base. This filled in the remaining gap and even allows for a groove to remove the caps without removing the wheels.

I hope this helps.

I like the different look without the OME hubcover cap but, I don't care for the fruit-tree amg tree and valvestem? I think I'd like a straight ///AMG on brush finish or even any of these >

with chrome finish nuts.
