hey guys im new on this forum but ive got an 03 redfire cobra that im looking to trade for one of these srt6's..its got 34000 miles on it and is in flawless condition!!..minor mods:2.8in pulley full borla exhaust and billetflow throttle body...fun car but im 21 and insurance is kicking this 21 year old in the butt!!...let me know ardamis3@hotmail.com...or just pm me...

Possibly. A couple of things going on here. V8s are always more expensive; however, the Mustang is classified as a standard passenger vehicle because it has rear seats whereas the SRT6 is a two person sports car. So, insurance may be very close, but I think the Mustang may be a bit more costly.

 

03 Termi Cobra's are some of the fastest and cheapest cars to modify on the road today...there are plenty that I know of with just a few K in mods running in the 10's and they look dam near stock...

To be honest, I was trying to buy a silver 03 in Rock Port IN. to replace my 04 xfire coupe before the lease was up. The guy owed a tire & lube shop and all the mod's that were done to it was done at an SVT dealership, if I remember correctlly it was putting down something like the high 600's to the ground. It had never seen rain and he even put it on his lift to wash the under side of it once in a while. It only had 7,000 mile's on it and he was asking 30K for it, but the wife said I was not buying a 30K dollar car with no warranty. So I ended up with the SRT 6, witch I really didn't know anything about until after I bought it and joined this forum.

 

You made a good choice. My bro-in-law works on f-o-r-d-s all day long and says unless everything is done there at the dealership they start to cancel warranty a piece at a time. If I paid anything close to what they want for a new cobra to have a warranty cancelled, I'd be ticked.

 

Someone on the board here previouslly owned an 03 or 04 and I remember right, I believe Ford flew in an SVT guy to look at his car and they ended up cancelling his warranty. He said that after that he would never own another "blue oval".
I really wanted that one I was looking at especially since all the work had been done at an SVT dealership. I would hate to imagine what he had in that car, a couple of the thing I remember it had was a Whipple S/C - 3 stage programer - cams - exhaust and something about the rearend. He had to have had close to 50K in that car since all the work was done at the dealership.

 

They sure sound like an american muscle car should. I just don't like that it sits and spins when an awd car is 4 cars out. I'm surprised how balanced our cars are. The weight distribution must be spot on.
