Beat a Sport Bike!
I think I beat a Sport bike today up to about 120..when we backed off and thumbed-up each other! DOn't know much about bikes..but this one had a rather BIG fat tire in the back and a titanium colored exhaust pipe sticking up at an angle, large diameter! We went fro 60..he thought "ha..not another "car kill!" Then all the way to 120 I was right on his rear (well..a safe distance back anyway's)! When we hit 90 or so..he did the old "hunker down for aerodynamics" thing but to no avail! I'm wondering if my SRT6 is stock! The dealer wouldn't say..re: the last owner? I never thought I could take a bike? Gawd these SRT's have torque was the SC comes on full boil! Unbelievable! Glad I gave up the Vette for this! Also at that speed (unlike my Vette) the car was absolutely stable and soild feeling! The old 383 Lingenfelter always felt as though I was driving on the edge, you know..that scary feeling when you know you're overdoing it on a rainy day (pucker marks in the seat<G>)! I taught defensive/evasive driving as well as some other things (?) for Intel and the LE and PMC (Private Miltary Contractors..i.e., Blackwater) and I know a good solid and safe handling car..and the SRT5 is among the best I;ve driven (along with mu other past AMG's)!
a completely stock 600cc sport bike can run the 1/4 mile in 10 seconds and trap 135mph or faster. He was just playing with you.
Many of my friends have them and race them (i have one too
) and they are WAY faster than the srt6.

Don't want to burst your bubble, having grown up racing MC, and in my teens, 20's, Ninjas by Kawasaki, finally getting too old at 29, I retired. Even the old bikes of my time would have taken an SRT6. I road a Kawasaki Eliminator on the street mid 80s to 1990 and it would run with anything, switched to a V-Max by Yamaha in 90 had it for 4 yrs. Finally slowed down, 3 boys in college, until I bought a basket case Harley Fatboy, rebuilt it from scratch. It was beaten by a AMG with dealer plate, now that guy can brag, but the old Fatboy only has 80 HP, not 400...so there you go...Doc

I've been riding motorcycles and sport bikes for over 25 years. He was either scared to whack the throttle open, or he was very inexperienced. There is no way for an SRT or any other car this side of 400 thousand dollars to beat a sport bike. Well, it could have been a Buell like mine. They do the 1/4 mile in about 11.74 with a good rider and only top out around 130. If it was one, you'd hear it. They sound like Harleys. Look at my avatar. It's a XB12S. The XB12R has more fairing and looks like a typical sport bike. This may be what you went up against, but if it sounded like it was screaming, it was most likely an inline 4 cyl. which basically any of them can't lose.
Actually, there are a few pseudo sport bikes that aren't that fast. The Suzuki Katana, any of the 250s, the Korean brands, and a few other beginner/sport tourers. You might have raced one of these.

Ok, anything below a 500cc bike you would have had a chance of staying with it, but at 120, it was probably bigger than that...my '85 Eliminator did 0-60 in 2.2 seconds, sub 11 1/4 mile in the 120's, this was in '85....todays bike garner more hp and quicker times...I have tried out a Hyabusa by Suzuki, but I have to tell ya, it is a lot quicker than the old Elim by far. If this kid was riding anything in 1000cc range, you wouldn't be anywhere near him after the first 2 gears...but it is fun to challenge them as I did the 500 MB traffic lt to traffic lt...my 80 hp Fatboy took him out of the hole, he would catch me @ about 70, and start to pull away slowly, but the old Fatboy tops out @ 120...so the race was over...have fun with your ride but 330hp @ 2800lbs vs 160hp @ 700lbs is usually no contest if the guy or gal knows what they are doing...

This past weekends car.bike meet..and there was the bike and rider! I thought he looked familiar during that race..since he weighs 260LBs.
I of course talked with him and if course he remembered the 'little blue coupe'! He was quite impressed with the SRT6! Now for the bike (drumroll...): Yamaha Star Warrior. A cruiser (class) I guess, like the V-Rod and the Honda VTF 1800 (some of the other bikes there). He said a 1/4 mile time arrpox. low 13's at 100MPH..but with his weight..well...they all laughed!
I can see you beating a 600cc bike or smaller from a 45 roll. The earlier models weren't as fast as todays bikes. Back in 2001, I beat my buddies 600 Ninja from a 40 mph roll, after he pulled right away but I passed him at around 90. This was with my 300ZXTT with intake, exhaust & chip. I've owned 10 sport bikes in my lifetime and forget about trying to beat them from a dig, we have a better chance once we are above the 0-60 times.

I have beaten a few 600's in my SRT (with pulleys and intake). Those bikes with PRO's on them can run high 10's with 135mph traps but there are SOOOO MANY kids riding them that simply cannot ride them to that potential.
My favorite meal is any Harley. I love when they hit it from the light next to me and I leave them in the dust. Most of them then initiate the ricer fly by....
