wouldn't a c 320 or c 55 rear dif be a better swap, atleast they make real posi's for that differential?

Now - where are you going to get a set of axles that are the right length and will fit the spline pattern? Does the stock drive shaft bolt up to the new diff?

Actually, if coming up with axles is the worst problem to solve for adding a better differential to this car, it might be a good idea. The rest of the auto performance world has many outlets for custom, heavy duty, properly splined axles. But none of this has anything to do with the initial question...

Try sticking with the topic at hand, and keeping your stupid comments to yourself. Phantom grips work pretty well and will make a nice difference for hooking up in the quarter mile. Being Quaife doesn't make a differential for our application, you now get involved with finding another rear differential from another car, then getting axles and modifiying them to fit our application, it becomes much more expensive plus the necessary fabricating to make it all fit correctly. Alot of time and money when a phantom grip will more then likely do the trick.

there is a guy that makes custom posi's for the neons,, I've heard from another member that he can do a crossfire LSD, but it will cost around $1500 for a drop in part. may not be a bad option.

The phantom grip is about $450 and very simple to install, there is no need to send your diff to Phantom Grip. no need to re-adjust your pinion depth, just re-use your old parts and keep your work area very oranized and tidy, shouldn't take longer than 10 hrs for a newby. maybe 4 hrs if you had a lift and done the install before.

Maxwell,
Do you have a link or info on this, I'll give the guy a call and see what he has. Not worried about the install, I have a lift, just more curious as to how involved it gets with independent rear suspension, I've done straight axles in the past they're easy to pull the gears. The viper, vet and crossfire all seems you just remove the whole ham.

Gary Peloquin.

The diff is cheaper than $1500. But the problem is that Gary needs your pumpkin to get one made.
