Default New Cars to be aware of...

Just checking dragtimes and ran across the new Lexus IS F running 12.7's-12.'8's stock!! If you have an intake, you should hang though......Anything else new we need to worry about besides the obvious(Vettes, GTO's etc.....)? Also saw an R8 on there running 12.6's@113 stock. Im in LOVE with that car, but I would gladly put the smack down on it if I came across one

Well, it does make in excess of 400HP so it had better be reasonably quick! Too bad about the fake stacked exhaust tips though.

I know its nothing to be sacred of, but has anyone came across a G37 yet? I imagine w/ an intake and tune it would be very close to a stock SRT.

Any times on the C63??

I raced a g37 coupe with dealer plates, stock... and we started in a turn, he couldn't even keep up... on a straight road we both went for it and again i pulled like 3 cars on him everything from a roll(35-45mph)... at the stop light he was explaining to me how his car is so much heavier than mine, and i asked how much he paid for it...he said 42000... i said... 23000 for mine and when the lights turned green I think he didn't even try, he just disapeared in my rearview mirror... I must add, temps were in the 90s it gets really hot in the valley...

Nice... didn't think stock would have much a chance.

Do you have any mods?

The new BMW 335 with the twin turbo setup. I had one run right with me at the drag a few weeks back. We both ran 12.4 but I had a 113 trap to his 106 if I remember right. He had intake and tune... AWD and twin turbo FTW!

Yeah, those 335's are nasty.

Watch out for the new G8 GT and GXP. Those things wont stay stock for long. One ran a 13.1 with a tune. I'm sure exhaust, cam, intake can't be too far behind.

Obviously the new RS4, M3 and C63.

I've read all the data and reviews about this car. I had the G35 Coupe 6MT with the 298hp engine. That car was slow compared to the SRT6. The new ones aren't any quicker because they weigh a lot! They have the same performance numbers as the Sedans. A stock SRT6 will smoke a G37 and the G35 sedan.

The new 350Z's are MUCH quicker than the previous versions. I think people have had them down around 13.4, where the old ones could barely sniff a 14.0.

Don't mess with the NEW 2008 Vette. It has and LS3 I think they call it with 430 HP. Cleaned me out by about 1 1/2 cars to 100MPH.

The new RS4 Audi isn't too scary. I ran one a few weeks ago, but forgot to post it on here. I ran him in the same spot as teh Aston Martin. We stayed door to door till about 90-100 and he started to pull slightly. With pulleys, I would have takin him I think.

The C63 is no joke, I'm not even going to try one of those. I might try a new M3 though. The 335 with a few mods is scary fast, so they can be pretty nasty. I've beaten them and been beaten by them.

Oh, the Shelby GT500 shouldn't be messed with either. I don't know if it was stock , but cleaned me out bad a while back.

85% of people on the street still don't know that SRT6's came with a blower. Unless you have some cash on the line, take 'em all. The guy with $60k+ in his car isn't going to brag to his friends that he just barely beat some little Chrysler, and you'll completely decimiate his ego if he loses.

MotorTrend did a side by side by side comparison of the Lexus ISF, BMW M3, and the MB C63 (all '08 models) some of the numbers are as follows...

1/4 Mile:
IS F: 12.7 @113.4
M3: 12.7 @111.3
C63: 12.5 @113.5

0-60:
IS F: 4.3
M3: 4.3
C63: 4.3

Hp/Tq
IS F: 416/371
M3: 414/295
C63: 451/443

Bottom line is...all quick. Motor trend gave the comaprison victory to the M3 on overall, but I'm personally a fan of the C63... besides, the C63 hangs in there with the best and has almost 400 more lbs than the M3 (4004/3652)

Just my educated $.02

I've seen 2 of them while I was driving my PT Cruiser But they're not that quick - They have a smilar 0-60 as the SRT but then soon after run out of steam - the SRT kills them in the 1/4 mile
