Default Score another win for the Crossfire SRT6

Yesterday I raced at Firebird Raceway for an NHRA Summit Racing Series points race and the mighty crossfire pushed 5 rounds for the WIN!!! It was a good field of hardcore bracket racers from AZ and CA. Long race but plenty of time to ice down the supercharger in between rounds. Gates opened at 5pm and I left the track at 1:45 am. The lane starters all come over and ooohhh and awwww the car. Lot of compliments. Tech inspection did make me take off my center caps, first time for that. My times weren't fantastic, but with the temps at 101 degrees was ok by me. Yes, you can still have fun with the SRT6 in the summer heat.

Congrats on your win! What times did you manage to get out of her in that insane heat? Just wondering what I have to look forward too in the near future, 95 this week, 100's are coming soon.

I managed a blazing 13.17 in qualifying. I knew I would run quicker as the weather cooled down and the DA got better. I dialed a 13.07 and went with that the rest of the night. My closest run was in the semi's. My opponent broke out with a 12.477 on a 12.48 dial, and I ran a 13.078 on a 13.07 dial. All the other races were fender races.

Awesome job...yeah the heat is here. I was out yesterday morning and the track surface temp was at 101 ground 93 in the air. Managed a best 13.5 with only an intake but ran a 13.2 at night two days ago.

Heats here to stay but congrats....is there a cash payout or only at the end??

Very nice, I did not stay today to race. I should have there were only 8 or so guys in my class.

Thanks.

Yea I remember just a few months ago I was running 12.7's with just the intake. 12.5's with the pulley, and my tracks are 1320' above sea level under the perfect conditions.

Yep, I got a check. Anyone from the quarters on gets the money. I only got 40% of the pot because I'm not a team member at that track. I was going to join before the race, but got there late and didn't know where to go. It was my first time at this track and it was a big race. The payout was $380, so I got a check for $152 bucks. I was grinning ear to ear. Friday is the next race for another organization that pays out. I hope to keep the checks coming. Even though my times are way off, the pulley and intake provide the midrange power to fender race from the top end on.

Yep, the other racers severely under estimate the power in our cars. They think they can toy with us and when they can't catch us they break out or don't have enough in the tank. The great launches really give us an advantage over the typical bracket car. With DR's and great track prep our 60's rival alot faster cars.

Congratulations! excellent job! Bracket racing is all about consistency and our cars are definatley that. Everytime I go to the drag strip, the car runs it's number over and over, no matter what tune up I have on the car it runs within a 5 or 6 hundredths window. Unfortunately for me at my home track there are no classes everyone races together on regular et points events and you'll often face a 9 sec car with a box and crosstalk etc. and if your on a footbrake you don't stand a chance! So I'm happy to go a couple of rounds and dodge the box cars, but then draw one a go home.

I'll have to buy my own. I was actually waiting for a trophy or sticker that say "Event Winner", but nope just a check. Get this I actually had to fill out a W-4 for taxes on the money. So no trophy and I can expect a 1099 at the end of the year. I liked getting a trophy better.

With this class you can change your dial every run if you like. If I had to run an electronics car, I'd sandbag the heck out of him and make him brake out trying to catch you. So next time put a 12.20 on the window and give him some of his own medicine.

Combine an ET vs. dial such as yours with a decent RT and one’s chances of earning a win light improve dramatically.

Great job!
