Clunking sound from passenger side at idle?
Clunking sound from passenger side at idle?
Weird... I hear a clunk at idle, from the passenger side of the car. Of course these cars are so short that I can't tell if its in the middle of the passenger side or towards the back... But it sounds a lot like if you lightly let off the brakes, but keep pressing down, you get some creaking as you inch forward. It sounds like one of those creaks, every 5 seconds or so. And the car isn't moving so I don't think its the brakes. I make sure I press down hard to eliminate that as the problem.
Keep in mind I have a bad fuel pump because the car is hard to start after it sits awhile, and I've already checked the relay. I have a fuel pump ordered already. Can a fuel pump clunk/creak?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Clunking sound from passenger side at idle?
The car doesn't seem to be moving at all though. I could try putting it in neutrel to see if no power causes the clunk to go away which might point to brakes, the problem is that would also take the tranny out of the equation too. And who knows, what if thats creaking/clunking. Though I doubt it since its definately somewhere on the passenger side. I could be crazy though.
I'll mess with it later.... Any more suggestions are welcome.
