Exhaust Decision...
OKAY GUYS, HELP ME OUT.... i HATE raspy, juvenile-sounding exhausts.
i want to improve the exhaust flow on the SRT, but i don't want that atrocious sound.
ALSO.... I love the exhaust tips from the rear, very 'clean.' i have not looked under the car yet, would it be difficult to keep the same tips?
magnaflow, borla, resonator-delete??????
thanks.

I tried to delete the muffler guts and put it back together, finally did a delete and added stainless wye, really opened the breathing a bunch see dyno. Dyno is muffler off and clean-up of the heads gasket matching. I have to do another dyno run with my new pulley - code 3

so waldig im very confused i looked over your gallery and saw that you had the muffler cut out when you say i finally deleted it. does that mean you completely removed the muffler??? i dont want to sound like a amg freak but dont you think the car was designed to run with a muffler? is there something bad that could happen without a muffler?
I had my rear cats removed and it improved the sound for the better! My next mod will be the resonator removal this way it'll sound really nice without being too loud and maintaining the stock muffler and tips! So this with a CAI is the sound I'm loving!

Needswings started to develope one, but they are a small company and their focus seems to be on their new intake manifolds. Maybe once they are done with that they will focus on the exhaust.
Here's a site about the C32 and SLK32 AMG Cars. I may have posted it before but it might be some good reading for new members.
It provides some interesting information about the engine features, supercharger, engine management etc..
What I did find interesting is they claim that the AMG cars come eqquiped with Thin-Walled Ho-Flow Cermaic Catalytic converters.

Technological refinement also marks the exhaust system. With the exception of the two exhaust manifolds, the complete exhaust system of the C32 AMG and SLK32 AMG have both been redesigned. All four catalytic converters are of ceramic material and feature thin-wall technology. The larger surface areas in the catalytic converters ensure a reduced exhaust backpressure and more rapid heating on a cold start. This benefits both performance and exhaust emissions. The sound escaping from the characteristic, twin-oval AMG tailpipe is also exciting, for the supercharged engine produces a sound with a very special resonance that manages to avoid being irritating.Hi-Flow CAT standard equipment??
Voyager; I tried to gut the muffler and did not like the lack of change, it did not go far enough so I deleted it. No there is no issue without the muffler, it is in line with the 2 pairs of cats and the resonator. Just less restriction, which is why I photoed the interior and ALL the stuff in there making it SO heavy. You just dont want to remove the muffler (shell), there has to be some type of pipe to prevent a really odd exhaust note, so I used a stainless wye. There is also a terrific amount of heat energy at that pipe, thus the aluminum heat shield. I had been experimenting for a long time before I even heard of this forum.
