Default SRT6 Dyno

I put the SRT6 on the Dyno for the first time last Saturday. I was not thrilled with the outcome. The Dyno operator was unable to get a Torque reading and both 240's and my graphs showed that strange dip in HP and Spike in A/F on pull #2. My mods are in my signature~Any thoughts?

That is one weird dyno but you made good numbers. Did it cut off at 5500rpms? He has the mph instead of the rpm's at the bottom. Did he give you a discount since it did not show your torque?

I believe he ran the RPM up higher due to my ECU Tune. It was only $50 for 3 pulls so that is pretty cheap. I am going to take it to LG Motorsports in a few days. These guys are HUGE Corvette tuners and I think they may be a little better dyno operators..... i will keep you posted!

Its looking pretty dry out over here. I think you should mosey on down to G2's dyno. If your graph looks signifigantly different and you get a tq reading its time for me to change dynos.

I still havent received the dynos via email after calling twice yesterday.

You think? I would think on a dynojet with those mods, he should be pulling better numbers. I was about 328whp on a mustang dyno with a tune/pulley/intake. It is a wierd graph though. Seems something is going on right around the 70mph mark. I'll let the experts chime in on that one. LoL.

Yeah I would just suspect that the dyno operator just did not know what he was doing. Heat, humidity and altitude has a big effect on #'s too. How hot was it that day?

Yeah, I hear you. Are you asking how hot was it on the day I got a dyno? It was a nice day. 70-75 deg. with low humidity.

The info is at the bottom of the Dyno Sheet, but it was 90 degrees out, 29.34 in-Hg, and 32% Humidity. My car was not steaming hot, but it was not cool either.....right below the mid mark on the temp gauge.

you do realize your looking at 3rd gear and 4th gear right? are you referring to the shift point dip in power? if you can get the actual dyno jet file you can change it from speed to rpm and plot it that way to get the nice clean pretty graph

Yes I realize that. We are in the process of getting the actual file, but the Dyno owner has not emailed it to me yet . Makes me wonder what the deal is!!!

The dyno operator screwed up. There are special settings for the SRT6 that each dyno guy must input before running the car. It has to be set up for MB SLK320 on an "automatic" setting due to the "autostick". Be careful some dyno guys dont know crap about setting up the machine. They just place a car and push start. I suggest using a euro tech/speed shop for more accurate data.

I just got off the phone with Kenneth at Alamo and gave him all 3 of our emails(me, you, Jerry). He said he will send the complete file as soon as he gets a chance.

Lets see what happens...

Btw, i found a Dynojet 248 15min away. Thinking of giving it one more shot tomorrow before sending my manifolds to Jerry for a custom tune. Just to have some reliable baseline numbers.

LG has a huge experience base with dyno work, having developed World Challenge, Trans Am, American Le Mans Series, Corvette Challenge, etc. race cars for 20 years+. They aren't the cheapest but they absolutely know their stuff. They are pretty Corvette-centric these days, though, and a SRT6 or SLK32 is probably a pretty rare sight in their shop.

I look forward to seeing your next results!

I live right down the road from this shop and have spent more money with Lou than I care to recall with a 1997 Z-28 I had years ago. I can get 3 pulls with A/f for $89 there and they were anxious to see my new toy!

I just had my Aero dyno'd a week ago on a Mustang and it was 308 whp max and 315 wtq max. It was also 96 degrees out so the readings were a little low. I will have to take it back for a cool morning dyno. I have the SL55 intake, 181 and LET tune. On the DynoJet I would think you would be better than 328whp also. My charts were nice even lines all the way through.

I received the Dyno File finally and here is the version with the RPM's instead of MPH. I was also able to find the torque reading but the HP numbers dropped. I am no expert with the WinPep7 software so I may have changed something. See the attachment for the 3 runs. I am going tomorrow for a "2nd opinion” over at G2 Motorsports. I will post the results tomorrow.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you're starting to lean out over 5.5krpm?

Yea, it gets a little leaner from the boost building but it is still pretty rich. I think anywhere below 13 if safe. I am no expert though...I am sure they will chime in soon!
